Grand Theft Auto V Sales UK January 2020

Let's not beat around the bush: January 2020 was an incredibly quiet month for video games. So quiet, in fact, that a release from 2013 ended up being the best selling title of the month here in the UK. We are, of course, referring to Grand Theft Auto V, a game which manages to appear on the UK sales charts week in, week out, despite being over six years old.

As for the biggest launch of January 2020, that award goes to Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, but the decent action role-playing game didn't exactly have much competition. Meanwhile, physical software sales in the UK were down 21 per cent year on year, while digital sales were up 3.7 per cent. An interesting little stat when you consider the lack of new games.

Did you expect anything other than a win for the evergreen Grand Theft Auto V? Question whether we'll ever see it leave the charts in the comments section below.
