NetherRealm Studios may have its own DC Universe-inspired brawler in the form of Injustice 2, but that’s not stopping Batman’s arch-nemesis the Joker from popping up in Mortal Kombat 11. Due out on 28th January in Early Access and 4th February for everyone else, the maniacal clown is at his brutal best, as he cracks skulls with his staff and uses explosive decoys to detonate his adversaries.
As you’d expect from the villain, there’s a sadistic silliness to his attacks, which are exemplified by his fatality. While we’ll refrain from spoiling it too much if you really don’t want to know, he feigns friendship before ripping his prey to smithereens – it’s really good fun. Will you be finishing him later this month? Fight in the comments section below.

I hope they do Ledger and Phoenix skins.
I expected it to be a nod to mortal kombat 8 (MKvsDC)
It wasn’t but his winning animation was though.
I like the fatal blow more than the fatality, still think the Injustice 2 model for Joker is better than this one even after the redesign
Not the Joker I was expecting after all the Persona 5 Royal news.
Also, Joker >>> Bylthe
@rjejr It's good to know that it isn't just State of Play that comes in for backlash.
@AdamNovice Nintendo invented backlash, see Federation Force.
Though we better end it there before the "off-topic" police ban us.
My most played game last year according to the play tracker. 246 hours played and I'm still crap 😜. I really need to play as someone other than scorpion too but hes always been my favourite since MK1.
Have to admit, that Fatality is pretty good.
Haven't played a MK game since Deadly Alliance on PS2 and before that MK3 on Sega Mega Drive no im serious, heck my last Street Fighter was Alpha 3 on PS1 which I still own to this day as it was the best one.
But for a cross fighting game last one was Capcom Vs SNK 2 on ps2
The Mortal Kombat crew are about to get what they f***ing deserve.
That moveset looks fun! And loving the humor, very much a welcome addition to MK. Officially excited to play as Joker— who knew 🤷🏻♂️
@Kidfunkadelic83 Scorpion is king
Wouldn't expect anything less from Joker, lol.
@rjejr They can piss off. Federation Force was an awesome co-op game, though. :/
@EVIL-C "Federation Force was an awesome co-op game"
Was it an awesome Metroid Prime game though?
Starfox Adventures is 1 of my top games of all time - not joking, it is - but it wasn't a Starfox game though, so I understand the backlash on that one as well. Well not the mass hysteria that followed it - would have been so much worse if twitter were a thing way back when - but you give a game a certain name, people expect things.
Jak and Daxter is my favorite game of all time (and my only platinum). Jak 2 and Jak 2.5 (what I call 3) were just mediocre. Jak X was a bad racer. Heroes on the Move (Playstation Move Heroes) is utter trash - PS2's best 3 platformer mascots and NO JUMP BUTTON. Names and franchises matter, they just do.
Also FFX is the last great FF game, FFX-2 is one of the worst games I've ever played, ever. So it goes.
@rjejr I love Metroid Prime as well. I also was dying for a top-tier FPS title on 3DS. I got exactly what I wanted from MPFF.
For those who gave it a chance, especially in co-op, most seem to agree.
@EVIL-C "For those who gave it a chance"
I'm afraid there are less of those, more complainers these days. Has to be one of the worst things about social media. Well complainers and social influencers.
"The People Who Complain About Social Influencers and the People Who Complain About the Complainers" will be the name of my next book.
