The Surge 2 was a somewhat decent iteration on its Souls-like predecessor, but we still felt like it was lacking a little something when it launched last year. It's worth checking out if you're starved of From Software experiences, but the game's first major piece of DLC looks a whole lot more interesting.

In the same vein as the original game's two expansions, which took it to an abandoned theme park and a western-themed combat area, the Kraken transports players to a town outside the city brimming with colour and enjoyable activities. Featuring a new storyline, weapons, implants, and armour, it looks set to be a meaty addition to the game which will give those still interested in playing The Surge 2 something else to check out.

On the outskirts of Jericho City, enter the VBS Krakow, a massive decommissioned aircraft carrier retrofitted as a retreat for the rich and famous. Battle robot pirates, deranged security systems, and an imposing new boss, each with their own unique combat mechanics.

The Kraken DLC will be available for purchase from 16th January, but owners of the season pass will gain access to its content two days early. We like the look of this one, but what do you think? Slice off a limb in the comments below.
