We can't imagine too many people are taking their PlayStation 4 with them when they travel, but we bet there are even fewer who lug it around in a backpack, just in case. One such individual has made his presence known in a bizarre story about hijacking an airport display to play his PS4. Alrighty then.
A man, waiting at Portland International Airport, decided to relieve his boredom with a quick go on Apex Legends. Whipping out his PS4, he connected the console to a nearby monitor displaying a map of the terminal in order to fire up the game. Naturally, this didn't last very long before airport staff took notice.
Speaking to local radio station KXL, Port of Portland spokesperson Kama Simonds wanted to make it clear that this is not an okay thing to do. "That is obviously something that we don’t want to have happened, because travelers need the information that we are putting on the screens for them," she said.
The man was asked to stop making use of the airport display, but he "very politely" asked if he could finish his round. The answer was no. "Apparently it was a very polite and cordial interaction,” Simonds said, adding that the incident acts as “a good reminder of what not to do at the airport".
So, there you have it. If you try and play your PS4 using an airport monitor, you'll almost certainly get in trouble. Who knew? Maybe pack your Vita instead next time.

Could've been worse, he could have fired Pornhub up on the PS4 browser.
@ApostateMage such incidents only happen in Florida.
Poor bloke, they should have let him finish the round. Just think of his poor team mates being left on their own mid match. Brutal.
I usually carry my Vita with me when I'm traveling but for long trips (2wks or more) I do travel with my PS4 in my back pack. But connecting to an airport screen is madness. I'm surprised it's not a federal offense. But I applaud you sir!
Buddy better play a game on his phone next time.
@RogerRoger i agree, very cool looking bench. I would like to have one in my living room.
It's time for playstation portable 2 😃
@Neolit DS is the real Passenger simulator! I am Sam Bridges Trying to balance all my bags in MIA 🤣
I'm sure the airport staff and customers were not concerned at all when some guy started pulling assorted wires from his rucksack
My boss took his PS4 to Australia because he was in the middle of his third playthrough of Skyrim. Still, this guy is a legend but seriously, he needs a Switch or Vita.
@LieutenantFatman No, because this was an incident that should never have happened in the first place. Him leaving his team mates mid-game was his fault. What the man did was selfish, despite his apparent politeness. He should've brought his PSVita (for remote play) / Switch (assuming he owns them) or use his phone.
Jesus, what a nob
I’m just impressed that Apex Legends was able to run off that slow, awful airport public WiFi.
Imagine if he was playing that "no Russian" airport level in COD!!! haha yikes
Phone or Switch next time, haha.
