There were quite a few new releases in October -- so many, in fact, that it almost doesn't feel like Concrete Genie and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare released in the same month. The painterly PlayStation 4 exclusive arrived several weeks before Infinity Ward's reboot, but it's sadly nowhere to be found on the PlayStation Store charts for October. Meanwhile, Modern Warfare is number one in both North America and Europe.
Other new releases have fared pretty favourably, too. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is second in the US (fourth in Europe), and The Outer Worlds from Obsidian manages a top 10 result in both regions. In terms of PlayStation VR titles, Beat Saber reigns supreme, while Fortnite and Apex Legends continue to battle it out atop the free-to-play chart.
You can view the full charts for North America and Europe through the respective links. Which PS4 games did you buy digitally in October? Tell us in the comments below.

I thought Concrete Genie would have done great on digital! surprised🤔 it really is a great game.
the last digital item i bought was the frozen wilds expansion for horizon zero dawn. i might have bought a physical copy of concrete genie if anywhere close to me had stocked it.
Picked up TOW, very fun title. Can see myself returning to it over and over with how malleable it is.
@David187 Although this game looks fantastic, it seems Sony didn't release this at a very good time, nor did they market it very well. Outside of the fact you knew it was coming, not much was said about it.
At least Medievil made it into the top ten. Sadly Concrete Genie doesn't seemed to have clicked with enough people. I do wonder about Pixel Opus's future because of this, the studio is really small Sony could easily close the studio and have the talent join up with other studios. It all depends on how much they value making these small games.
Under Shawn Layden he had the motto "first, best, must" since he left I've been a bit concerned if that philosophy will drastically change now.
Concrete Genie is still not available anywhere at retail over here.
@SoulChimera Yeah, I had a little trouble finding a copy of Concrete Genie and it took a little shopping around. I wonder how many units were not sold that could have been if the game was just available and present on the shelves.
It’s a sad world where The Forest is in the top 20 but Concrete Genie is not.
As much as I loved Concrete Genie, it is one and done for me, loved the story for what it was and little worlds atmosphere but I have no desire to play it again, the painting for me just got boring.
Of course it did. Sony barely advertised their own exclusive, yet there's PS4 branded MW ads anytime you take a breath.
@SoulChimera Try base.com, I think they are UK based, right?
TBF, I kinda forgot about Concrete Genie. No surprise, because there was no marketing push, nothing.
I'll probably get Concrete Genie before the end of the year as it does seem like a cool, and different, game. Just happened to release at a bad time not long after Link's Awakening and just ahead of Modern Warfare and Luigi's Mansion 3.
I feel like Concrete Genie will be PS Plus free game someday.
I have enough to play now, but this game has been on my wish list since the previews. I'll buy it around Christmas time. ACG on youtube has a nice review for it, if people are interested.
Sad to hear about ghost recon performing well, that game should crash and burn for the things they're trying to do to the franchise..
@LaJettatura What countries do you people life. If in this small country the Netherlands has it. 😋
My last digital buy was the expansion from Horizon Zero Dawn. I just hate digital every option i have too get it physical ill take it.
@LaJettatura Thats so weird i thought the US had more but i hear a lot of these things. Even no choice where too shop only on Amazon.
@Octane You could've watched Playstation Access EGX 2019 vids on YouTube, on 1 of the days posts there was a Concrete Genie section where it was played and explained what the game was about.
