NBA 2K20 is adding a new mode to celebrate the start of the new basketball season, and it’s teamed up with Nike to release an exclusive line of sneakers designed specifically for gamers. MyPLAYER Nation will see you take your solo build online, competing for your favourite team alongside other fans. You’ll be able to play through your chosen franchise’s entire season, with global wins contributing to a percentage which will determine the overall outcome of each match.
But there’s more: as alluded earlier, those in the United States will be able to complete specific challenges to unlock the opportunity to purchase exclusive Nike kicks. First up is the LeBron 17 ‘Bron 2K’, a sweet looking purple shoe with some elaborate fabric detailing. You’ll need to surpass LA Lakers star LeBron James’ overall 97 rating to be in with a shot of nabbing these.
The cool thing here is that, while stocks will be limited on the physical sneakers, those who complete the challenges and connect their 2K Sports account to the SNKRS app will also be able to claim in-game versions for their character. There’ll be nine more pairs of exclusive footwear released throughout the season, although it’s unclear when they’ll be up for grabs. In the meantime, you better begin grinding, as the first set will be available from 29th October.
