You'd like to think that a video game director has a pretty good grasp of what it is they're making, but that might not be the case at Kojima Productions. Hideo Kojima, the myth, the man, and the legend has gone on record stating that he doesn't understand what's going on in his own game. Good luck to anyone else trying to figure out what Death Stranding is all about then.

In an interview with the Financial Times and reported by VG247, Kojima said: "Death Stranding… even now, I don’t understand the game. Its world view, gameplay, they are all new. This is classic Kojima, isn't it? The video game pioneer has said a number of odd things in the past, but this one might take the cake. You don't understand your own game? We love it. Although, when you consider the fact that urinating leads to the blossoming of flowers, babies can take you into another dimension, and the Doritos king Geoff Keighley are all known quantities within the world of Death Stranding, we're certain it's going to take a while to unpack regardless. Keep on being you, Hideo Kojima.
