The Last of Us: Part II 2 PS4 PlayStation 4 1

There were rumours that Naughty Dog was targeting a 2019 release date for The Last of Us: Part 2, but that’s been bumped back internally, and Death Stranding has taken its slot. The latest speculation points to a February release date – and we wouldn’t be surprised if it dropped on Valentine’s Day, given some of the themes of the game.

To add further fuel to this burning inferno, Ellie’s actress Ashley Johnson appears to almost confirm the launch month in a Between the Sheets interview on the Critical Role channel. Asked about the release date, she responds: “I think it’s coming out in Fe—,” she says, before being interrupted and stopping herself from saying more.

Of course, with no official confirmation, anything can happen. It may be that February is Naughty Dog’s current target, but there’s every chance it could be pushed back. Our guess is that it’s getting close now, but with 2020 looking packed, don’t be surprised if some titles move around. Where does this sequel sit on your most wanted list?
