One of the better April Fools Day jokes to come out of the video game world yesterday was a "leaked" video of a Yakuza game with turn based combat. It was pretty funny, but the footage of the fake game was very well produced, and many fans wanted to see the whole thing without interruptions.
SEGA has obliged, and the four-minute direct feed video has been put on YouTube for all to enjoy. You can watch it above. Apparently, it'll only be available to watch until 8th April, so if you want to watch it, you've only a few days to do so.
It looks pretty good, doesn't it? Would you play a turn based Yakuza game like this? Select your attack in the comments below.

That was great, but more importantly I didn’t realize we had any footage of the new protagonist. I mean obviously this video is a joke but it’s nice to see what he’ll look like in game of Shin ever releases.
I was hoping it wasn’t a joke. I would honestly really like a turn-based Yakuza RPG.
looks amazing haha.definetly it would work out if it turns out to be a rpg.make it happen.segggggaaa.word up son
i don't know if this format would work as a full game, there would be some outrage if the the core combat is changed so much in the main game itself. and i don't think that changing the combat from a brawler (which is a core part of the franshise) to turn based is a good idea.
but i could see this being a minigame though.
Doesn't look good and no I wouldn't play a turn-based Yakuza game. As much as I love the series I detest turn-based combat.
@KingdomHeartsFan I mean, it’s certainly no less weird than a turn based rock-paper-scissor game featuring women dressed as insects..

@Discipledoctor well, no actual / purported gameplay footage (leaving aside the online game which has a different art style), Ichiban's character model appeared in a 2017 teaser cinematic for Yakuza: Next! (or whatever this game ends up being called) and the Fist of the North Star game (Hokuto ga Gotoku / Lost Paradise).
@dancingstar93 yeah I know, I was referring to finally seeing his model in motion. I didn’t realize it was old news lol
