The Division 2 is now live on PlayStation 4 for those who bought the Gold or Ultimate edition of the game. By most accounts it's been a smooth early launch experience so far, but that's not to say everything's perfect. A number of reports on Reddit and social media claim that, on consoles, the game's frame rate can plummet while out in the open world, making it virtually unplayable.
It's unclear what causes this problem to arise, but it sounds pretty bad. Fortunately, there does seem to be a fix. If your frame rate starts to tank and doesn't recover, a lot of people are saying that simply logging out of The Division 2 (returning to the main menu) and then jumping back into your game clears things up. Alternatively, you can just close the application and restart.
For now this quick fix appears to do the trick, but we're sure that developer Massive will be taking note and working on an official tweak. Until that arrives, let us know if you're having any problems of your own in the comments section below.

I love playing for this early access.
Don't think this is a new issue, I experienced quite a few serious frame rate drops during the open beta. Surprised a fix wasn't included in the day-one patch.
I had the same issue with the first game when I reinstalled it recently. Also with the textures not loading properly and everything looking all PS2'ooey.
Same Ubisoft, different day.
If only they had a 90gb patch to fix it all 🤔
Seriously though is there a reason why all of these always online grindy looting games never work properly at launch?
“Have you tried turning it off and on again?”
Sounds like a memory leak
I have to work first but have it downloaded and ready to go as soon as I'm off.
I had this when I played at midnight. I was barely an hour in when I started getting serious, unplayable levels of stuttering. Never encountered it in the beta (though a fair few apparently did) but in the full release I get it almost immediately. If I have to restart the game every hour, its just a joke.
how's that a fix?.
All ok here in uk people
@leucocyte Because it fixes the problem?
... Temporarily, at least.
@ShogunRok - so it's a temporary workaround and not a fix.
@leucocyte Well, it's what many would call a "quick fix", which is what the headline says.
You’d think with two betas and a huge day one patch this sort of thing would have been ironed out 🙄
@leucocyte
Like pull the plug ... And then plug in
Fixed
Haha
In the words of Jim Sterling "Ohhhhhhh Ubisoft" (vomit sound effects)
Another Triple A game that's released with known bugs even after beta testing it's getting ridiculous now.
I encountered this while playing for 6+h non-stop yesterday. I remembered that this was also the case in the beta and Ubisoft told players to restart the game from time to time.
But I never got disconnected, the game seems very stable to me so far.
Division 1 still has that problem when you go to open the menu.
