Trails of Cold Steel fans rejoice, for NIS America has confirmed that The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III will be coming to Western PlayStation 4s in the latter half of 2019. You can catch the announcement trailer above.
If all goes to plan, this means that the first three Trails of Cold Steel games will be playable on Sony's current-gen system in 2019. Although Trails of Cold Steel and Trails of Cold Steel II don't have concrete release dates yet, they're still pencilled in for "early 2019", so we should have some news on those soon.
Still, this announcement gets a big thumbs up from us. If you haven't already sampled the series on PS3 or Vita, be safe in the knowledge that these are some of the best Japanese role-playing games of the last decade or so.

Hopefully this means the 4th is pretty much guaranteed to show up over here too at some point! Can't leave us hanging with just 3 games out of 4 lol.

I'm little disappointed that the first two games are separate releases ,was sure when was first announced would be in one package

@suikoden Might be to do with distribution, mind. The official Marvelous website has the first game up for "Early 2019" while the second game is just "2019".
We really need confirmation on this kind of stuff.
So if NIS is releasing this, does this mean the localization and dubbing are going to be entirely different from the way they are in the first two games?

As mentioned above the official Marvelous site (publisher in Europe) still doesn't have confirmed dates for either of the first two games.

Really excited for all three! I loved the Trails In The Sky games (played the first two, and will watch a playthough of the third since I don't have a PC).
VERY happy about this! Started playing Cold Steel 1 on my Vita last year, but when I heard that first two were coming to PS4 this year with dual audio and extra voice lines and as steelbook physicals then I decided to wait as I was loving it but wasn't too far into the game, so the third on its way to the West too is fantastic news! 😀

@MistressTonberry They also have CrossPlay so you can keep playing I (and or 2) on your VITA when away from home.
I got the first two games on PS3 (Half way done on the first one) but I'm so gonna buy all three for my PS4. About time we get more info on this.
Loved the first game on the PS3 but never did play the sequel so pretty excited to play them on the PS4 but do i buy those smart Steelbook versions or go digital?
One and Two on the vita were amazing. Best games ever. Looking forward to the third. But will miss play it on the vita.
@ShogunRok your header is incorrect as there are four Trails of Cold Steel games so it isn't exactly complete with the release of the third game. Games I & II were a complete story arc as are games III & IV and if IV isn't localized we'll be left on a cliff-hanger with an incomplete story lol.
