We've had our eye on A Plague Tale: Innocence for a while, as it looks like a fairly promising survival/adventure title from Focus Home Interactive. Playing as Amicia, a young girl accompanied by her little brother Hugo, you must survive in 14th century France at a time rife with war and disease. Hordes of bloodthirsty rats carry the Black Death, and the two orphans are forced to navigate this bleak world and try to stay alive.

While it's all quite dark, it's an interesting setting for a game that will hopefully make for some great moments in its story. We're looking forward to finding out, anyway, and the release isn't too far away. The game launches on 14th May 2019.

To accompany this news, the publisher has released the first in a series of developer diaries, with the first focusing on the two main characters. It's worth a watch if you're interested in the game, as not only do you learn a little more about the protagonists, you'll also see glimpses of new footage. Are you looking forward to A Plague Tale: Innocence? Don't let the rats get you in the comments below.
