Legendary role-playing game developer Obsidian Entertainment is making a space RPG with guns and aliens and player choice, and it got a trailer at The Game Awards 2018. It's called The Outer Worlds, and it's coming to PlayStation 4 at some point, although no release window was given other than 2019.
This could be pretty good, right? Let us know if you're excited in the comments section below.

Probably will becoming a year or so after the Xbox release since MS owns Obsidian now.
This game stuck out to me the most. Very interesting.
This looks hype as hell!
Looks like Fallout in space.
@Tasuki nah this was an obligation they had before MS bought them
This looks awesome I can’t wait to play it
That was a great trailer, and the humour was a nice touch. I’m pretty intrigued to learn more.
@Tasuki Yeah this has been in development before the Microsoft acquisition, and it's not published by Microsoft either.
Kinda Borderlands-esque.
@ShogunRok nice god of war wins game of the year.a toast of e and j for the Legend kratos 👏 congratulations.word up son
this game looks amazing.word up son
Trailer got me hyped but will wait and see what gameplay is like.
Can't help but feel like Obsidian maybe just beat Bethesda to the Starfield punch...?
Ooh! This looks rather interesting, I'll have to keep an eye out for more information regarding this title!
Alright! Glad I'll be able to play one more Obsidian game before they go to the darkside.
Any word on if this can be played in 3rd person as well?
Looks good, will never say no to a Sci Fi rpg.
Fantastic trailer and this is definitely one for me to keep an eye on, looks right up my street. Nice little Fallout taglines as well, shame they cut the one about Fallout 76 😉
Obsidian over here like “We’re sorry Bethesda wouldn’t let us make the Fallout game you really wanted, so we kinda hit made our own IP”. Shouldn’t have burnt your bridges Bethesda! This probably has a working engine too!
At first I was hoping for something similar to Mass Effect. But as the trailer went on it's became very clear that this is basically Fallout: Space Edition.
It looks more like Borderlands to me, with the humour and all. It's Obsidian, though, so i have faith that the writing will be pretty good.
@ApostateMage Indeed. Borderlands meets Fallout by the team who did FO:NV (and the original games)? Count me in!
I'm in. This looks like the game Fallout 4 should have been.
So it's Fallout in space
with how bad Fallout 76 has been and how the player base has received it then this could be really good for Obsidian
@Tasuki this is a game which was set in stone before MS acquisition & it’s getting published by Private Division a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive so it will be published day and date with Xbox One. Also watch your language when making false statements. 😉
Can't help but feel that this trailer felt like a slap towards bethesda.
Anyway looking good so far!
awesome its like borderlands and fallout had a baby, also it does feel like a big FU to bethesda
Actually quite interested in this. Looks fun!
Looks great, look forward to seeing more.
Another post apocalyptic/dystopian game that thinks it's full of wit and social satire... yaaawn
Ok, so we got boarderlands, fallout, we happy few, the bioshock games and I'm sure there are many more.
So Microsoft bought them yet this isn't even an xbox exclusive? Lol
Hopefully this'll be what Fallout 4 wasn't.
@AyanamiReign that's because all the licensing and stuff was done before MS brought them kind of like how it is with Minecraft
you'd have thought obsidian might wait to see how this turns out before agreeing to sign away their independence.. if it turns out to be a massive success, they could have had a string of publishers with offers to publish their next title.
