Set aside some time before booting up Red Dead Redemption 2 this week, as in addition to installing the title’s multiple Blu-ray discs, you’ll also need to download a day one patch. “As is common for a game of this size and scope, there will be a downloadable title update addressing a number of last minute tweaks, bugs, and fixes,” a Rockstar spokesperson said. “To ensure the best possible gameplay experience, we strongly recommend making sure you’ve downloaded this update before launching the game.”

If you’re downloading the Western from the PlayStation Store, then you should already be able to pre-load the release right now, meaning there’ll be no additional hanging around. There’s no word just yet on how large the patch is, but we’ll obviously update you as soon as we know more.
