Dragon Ball FighterZ has done incredibly well for itself, with publisher Bandai Namco announcing that the brawler has passed 3.5 million copies sold. That figure includes retail shipments as well as digital sales. The last time we heard about the game's commercial performance was back in February, when news broke that it had shifted 2 million units.
FighterZ launched just days before that article was published, so the game's not even a year old yet. We're sure Bandai Namco will be most pleased with its success.
Of course, this confirmation of the title's success has already got people talking about the game's future. Could a second season of additional characters be announced soon? We wouldn't bet against it, honestly.

you know it's a good game but it could really do with more single player/local co-op/offline stuff to do, a great fighting game but not the best Dragon Ball game
Impressive. That's getting close to 1m across every platform averaged out.
It's probably more like 1.5m, 1m, 500k and 500k but still.
