Well, we're not quite sure how, but Conan Exiles has leapt straight to number 1 in Japan on PlayStation 4. The survival role-playing game (you know, the one with visible penises) moved 32,000 copies on Sony's system, and that was enough to secure the throne. My Hero Academia: One's Justice also made the top 5 on PS4, but only managed around 16,000 copies.
Despite Conan's best efforts, however, sales of the standard PS4 actually decreased, dropping to around 14,000 units. At least the PS4 Pro fared a little better this time around, hopping to 9,000 units. Maybe people just want to see those barbarian genitals in 4K? Or are they censored in Japan? To be honest, we're not really willing to find out.

Say what?! This is unexpected. There’s no accounting for taste ....
Aww nuts.
"Maybe people just want to see those barbarian genitals in 4K? Or are they censored in Japan? To be honest, we're not really willing to find out."
Pft. Journalists
Who knew the Japanese market liked to see swinging trouser snakes?
Maybe put warning for language, this is a family site for all ages after all. I got censored for far smaller things.
@YeYa what language?
@naruball I like the way you think.
@naruball I don't really know if mentioning male genitals is appropriate, I got censored for sh*t.
The game has a deep crafting system, base building and good combat. Thats why people want to play it.
@hotukdeals New Gundam Breaker and Dynasty Warriors 9 sold decently in Japan (and more than Conan Exiles) btw, and those were pure disappointments.
I own this game(Conan)...it is bad.
@YeYa Last time I checked "genitals" was not a sware word.
I actually would like to know how this happened. I can see a GTA, Call of Duty or even Halo, big-name Western franchises, shooting to the top of the list for one week in Japan, especially if it's a slow one for new releases. But a Conan game? Quite surprising.
What? I read that right then. I'm not sure how it happened either.
I've also never heard genitals thought as a swear either... It wasn't even used in some terrible way either. It's a day for new and surprising things I guess.
I have tried Conan Exiles (got it in a bundle), but I couldn't get into it. After wandering around aimlessly and grabbing some food and killing a few enemies, I quickly got bored. But open ended survival games aren't my thing though.
Lol and this is why I stop caring about the japanese sales it's like the lost the good taste of gaming
@GKO900 damn right
Didn't see this one coming, I must say.
