Perhaps unsurprisingly, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy has leapt up the chart from 22nd to secure another No.1, due to the game releasing on several new platforms. It means that Ubisoft's open world racer The Crew 2 had to settle for second place in its debut week.
This means that everything else has shifted down a few notches; FIFA 18 is still performing fairly well in third, and God of War remains in the top 10 in fifth place. Detroit: Become Human has fallen just below the best sellers into 11th, while Star Wars Battlefront 2 re-enters the chart at No.7.
Here's the latest top 10.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 30th June, 2018
- Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
- The Crew 2
- FIFA 18
- Mario Tennis Aces
- God of War
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Star Wars Battlefront 2
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Fallout 4
- Far Cry 5

GTA is still there.....wow
@Hootnoodle It has dipped out of the top 10 a couple of times now, but yeah, its sales performance is bonkers.
@Sarfa Where have you been since 200q?
Anyway, any details on why Crash did so well?
@Knuckles-Fajita The report suggests it sold best on XB1 which is a surprise.
The individual chart should be out later, which will paint a clearer picture.
Battlefront is on sale in alot of places for £10 which explains that one. And GTA has been selling for £20 - although it still begs the question who doesnt own it at this point
I reckon GTAV will creep back into the top 3 next week with the new update coming up.
@Fight_Teza_Fight Why is that a surprise?
I know a few Xbox owners (that don't have a PS4) that grew up on Crash just like us and they're just as excited to have him "back" as we were a year ago.
I agree there's something not quite right about it and I still feel like I'll always want to play Crashy B on some kind of PlayStation.
@Fight_Teza_Fight You mean the link? It doesnt say Crash sold best on XBO, just that it released on new platforms this week and that's why it's #1.
@Sarfa I find it weird when people say that when it's been multi-plat for nearly 20 years, though I understand the affinity towards playing on PS given the origins.
@BraveBiT I think that it mentions specifically Xbox when it released on a platform known for games like this and reportedly had more copies shipped for said platform...is telling.
Then again, UK. So ya know, cold day in hell.
@Sarfa 2001.
And its not a case of "happened before and is happening again".
It happened once and has been the case for nearly 18 years.
@Sarfa A character that they never owned.
@BraveBiT It highlights XB1 over the other releases. The individual platform chart will be out later, but they already know which platform sold best.
@Knuckles-Fajita Home console Crash has been out for well over a year. Thought the Switch would do best due to portability & Nintendo being the home of platformers and all.
It probably did great across all platforms though.
@Fight_Teza_Fight Switch was apparently the most shipped version and got the lions share of marketing.
But then again, this is the UK so...we had our yearly Switch chart topper last week.
@Fight_Teza_Fight Really? I thought platformer sold best on switch, with shooter on xbox1.
@wiiware That's true.
One caveat - "United Kingdom".
I don't see how putting "with an Xbox One launch" in the title suggests it sold better there. Sounds like the writer just needed a shorter title.
Anyway, it's a nice remaster and glad it released on other platforms. Plays great on Switch.
It's good to see Crash doing well again.
@Sarfa not really it's been happening since the PS2
@Fight_Teza_Fight Turns out that yes, the Xbox One version sold more.
For some sobering perspective, the Switch version of Crash is also the fastest selling Switch game in 2018. But it was outsold by the Xbox One version.
Says how well other Switch games do doesn't it?
Switch version sold around 250 fewer copies than on the Xbone, apparently, which is negligible, which means it was a hit on both systems. It's no wonder the game came in at #1 again.
@Knuckles-Fajita Octopath will be the big test I think.
I’ve got it preordered just in case. Never know if a Switch game will be in stock or not at GAME.
@Fight_Teza_Fight Not really though its not a Nintendo mascot and most of the people have it on PS already i guess.
Good for Crash. And GTA V.
Most of the people playing GTA online are kids.
Kids don't have a lot of money as they have no jobs.
Kids trade in games (like GTA), then buy the same ones they traded in (GTA), again.
That's my theory on GTA still selling anyway.
@Clutch_Nixon That actually makes sense
@Clutch_Nixon That's not how it works. These charts only track new, sealed copy sales. Not pre-owned.
@Knuckles-Fajita yeah I know that. Thing is who's to say that they didn't trade in and pick it up new on offer for 20 quid? Last I saw the vultures were charging near full whack for it pre-owned.
