Destiny 2's Solstice of Heroes begins today on PlayStation 4. The lengthy live event is available to all players regardless of which expansions you own, and it lasts until the 28th August, meaning that you have around a month to get stuck in.
The big draw here is that those who get involved can nab some powerful armour. Said armour can be upgraded through completing certain challenges during the event, eventually increasing its power level all the way to 400. In theory, it should prove to be an effective way for players to gain a lot of ground before September's Forsaken expansion launches. The event itself consists of remixed story missions and, as mentioned, specific challenges.

I will be taking part... I stopped playing Destiny 2 shortly after the Curse of Osiris expansion but started playing again a week or so ago. I have enjoyed the playing the new game as I strive to level up to the current limit in time for Forsaken and this should help me be in a good position for when that arrives...
I'm in the same boat as BAMozzy, not really played since Curse of Osiris but the last few days I've been getting back into it and having a good time. Will likely try this out if I get some time in an evening
Meh. I wouldn't bother until September update.
Actually just started playing with my friend in July, so I’ll be looking into this!
@3MonthBeef i refer to the suggestion that anyone should bother coming back before September, I wouldn't bother advising to do so
Dunno I am enjoying it and the Redux missions are rock hard infact they are brutal to play lol
'remixed story missions' lamo you couldn't make this stuff up
Read your piece on this new event and jumped in last night. Basically the same damn game with more and tougher guys to kill.
Y'know, I was getting into D2 again these past few weeks. It's always been good for short sessions. But this event killed it for me. I ran through the first chapter and gave up. I couldn't have been less enthusiastic to go through the whole thing again. I have three character slots for that - and how many ways do you really want to complete the same damn thing?
Seems Bungie have run out of ideas. Talk about a let down. I was really tempted to delete the game from the hard drive and be done with it.
The false hopes sort of ruined a good staple.
