The Last of Us: Part II’s big gameplay reveal this week introduced us to three characters: one we already know well, the other two are brand new. That’s right, in the opening scene of the all-new trailer, we see Ellie (Ashley Johnson) accompanied by Dina (Shannon Woodward) and Jesse (Stephen Chang).
Woodward joined the cast of the game last year, and is best known for her role as Elsie Hughes in Westworld. In order to properly introduce the new characters – and the returning fan favourite – Naughty Dog has released some character portraits which give us a much better look at their designs.
No way does Dina make it out of the opening hour alive.

But what about Troy Baker?
The Cast of Us
@Octane Nice one
@Octane Damn, good work.
Is it me or did Ellie look a bit too different in the opening cutscene? I know she's older now but I felt her facial features were a touch too different then how she looked before (not that puts me off though...good heavens no).
Still don't know about Laura Bailey's character yet either, I have an idea who it could be but will save it in case of spoilers.
@adf86 I felt the same way, but in part because I always envision her as Ellen Page, lmao...
@adf86 they added 40% of Ashleys face into Ellies to make them look more alike
@Octane You're hired.
@get2sammyb
If Dina does make it past the first hour will you be changing your avatar again. Or has the pain been to much this time
@gingerfrog No more avatar bets.
I know Ellie looks all grown up but hearing her 14 year old cursing again made me smile.
@adf86 She looks really different in the dance scene, she looks how I'd expect her to in the combat scenes and at the top of the article. I'm not sure what the difference is really (I assume it's the same model?)
Maybe it's just her hair/clothes? Dunno.
@adf86 Laura's in it to??? Man they might as well add the rest of the cast from Critical Role.
The dance scene all looks a little too cartoony, imo. Not sure why but something about it just doesn't look as realistic as the game usually does.
Once it kicks into the gameplay scene it looks incredible though.
@Tasuki She plays the woman from the second trailer but we don't know her name
It is weird that she'd so different at the dance floor scene and then she looked... normal again during the gameplay sequence. I hope ND is already fixing that before launch.
