It feels like we've waited an age to see something more of Cyberpunk 2077, but developer CD Projekt Red is already looking past its upcoming project and into the unknown future beyond. Obviously this is the kind of long term planning that companies need to consider, but it still makes for some interesting reading.
Indeed, the studio's latest financial report -- which, be warned, is absolutely colossal in PDF form -- points out that following the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, the developer is looking to release another "AAA, story-driven RPG" by 2021. At this juncture there are no real clues as to what this mystery game might be.
Assuming Cyberpunk 2077 makes it out in 2019, this suggests that CD Projekt Red is going to be rather busy over the next couple of years. Of course, we're not going to hear anything more about this next title until Cyberpunk 2077 has hit the market, but everyone loves a bit of speculation.
What kind of RPG would you like to see from CD Projekt Red? Describe your wildest dreams in the comments section below.

Witchcraft surely
Hogwarts.
Gosh they must be so busy judging my the size of The Witcher 3 thats hardcore. I have been looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077 for years and cant wait to play the finished product.
i can only think about it being the witcher 4 with ciri as the protagonist.
they have stated themselves that they would eventually make another witcher game. (or atleast that the series is not done yet).
Also, Microsoft's probably going to win E3 for me if they show off the game in their conference!
Practice makes perfect. They're obviously more comfortable with their development skills and working together as a team. Good for them.
As for predictions about what this new RPG may be, I'd love a contemporary setting, maybe a spy story. There's only ever been one spy RPG and it was Alpha Protocol (amazing ambition, shakey execution) so there's definitely a gap in the market. Another sci-fi or fantasy setting would get lost in the crowd, what with ANTHEM, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, their own back-catalogue, etc. so it'll need to be different to stand out.
Darn, there goes my hopes of a troubadour rhythm game starring Dandelion.
@Kidfried yeah Microsoft is going to bring back scalebound.wow sea of thieves is the geatest game ever.man phil is the best .the x box one x is the best console of all times.and wow they got the best first party ever.wow phil wow.word up son😂
Next-gen Witcher
Remasters of Witcher 1 and 2 or a Ciri spin-off.
@tameshiyaku Honestly this is all I can think of, Witcher 1 + 2 remasters and a Witcher 3 spinoff.
I don't see them doing a Witcher 4, as much as everyone wants one.
Witcher 4?
And I want 60 fps witcher 3 remake for ps5
The Twitcher - where Geralt decides to retire and take up birdwatching
Maybe they will make a top down Rpg? Or maybe not a rpg at all
The Witcher 4 - Gerald Twitch
The man from one of the best gaming series is back to scratch that most annoying of things a twitch that's as annoying as an itch
Alien invasion of Earth. Based in current times 2021.
Maybe at this e3 they might give us a name or maybe even a teaser kinda similar to what they did with cp 2077.
Is that cart pulling a horse?
Seriously though, I can’t imagine what it is right now. After Witcher 3 I wouldn’t have guessed Cyberpunk 2077. My best guess is a Cyberpunk sequel or a new IP, and if it’s a new IP I’m guessing it’ll be something a little wild.
I reckon it'll be Witcher 4 seeing as 3 sold by the bucket load
Considering that CDPR have eschewed traditional business models and shown that they march passionately to the beat of their own drum, we could see a teaser for this new game before Cyberpunk drops. They did release that teaser for Cyberpunk well before Wild Hunt hit the market. My guess would be either a shorter Witcher game featuring Ciri, or, a major expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 along the lines of Blood and Wine, and likely stand-alone. B&W was quite a meaty expansion, and came out about a year after TW3. I can't imagine them developing a new IP in the 2 years after Cyberpunk, but a Cyberpunk spin-off seems plausible.
CDPR like to challenge themselves to grow and try new things, and I hope their era of this philosophy is long and fruitful. Moving away from The Witcher, and not having a pre-set character in Cyberpunk will be a big change, and will certainly give them fresh challenges.
Meanwhile, while The Witcher is on hiatus, Gwent will keep people invested in that world, especially its single-player campaigns. The core Witcher novels have all been translated into English, and other languages, so folks can get their fix there as well. The cherry on top is the TV show based on the Witcher Saga that Netflix is preparing. By the time they announce The Witcher 4, people will be foaming in anticipation!
A game starring Ciri would be awesome!
Seeing how CDPR has toes with WB i would love an Open world Harry Potter Rpg.
