These days, every game absolutely, unquestionably needs online functionality, and Assassin's Creed Origins is no different. Alongside its microtransactions, revenge missions, and daily quests, Ubisoft is also bringing big events to the release that'll put your skills to the test.
To be fair, these so called Trials of the Gods sound pretty cool -- and the first one kicks off today. Lasting until the 14th November -- you've got a week to complete it, in other words -- this initial trial will pit you against a physical representation of Anubis, the ancient Egyptian God of the dead. You'll have to defeat him to complete the event and get your hands on some exclusive equipment.
However, according to the publisher, beating him won't be easy: "The Trials of the Gods will test every skill you’ve learned while surviving in Ancient Egypt. Brute strength alone won’t suffice – you’ll also need to apply your battle strategies on a scale larger than anything you’ve faced before." Best come prepared, eh?
Will you be taking on Anubis? Let us know if you manage to bring him down in the comments section below.

Are these challenges sort of like Hitman's elusive targets? As in, if he can't be beaten before 14th November we'll never get another shot at it?
I logged in to try it, but to be honest can't find how, any ideas?
Hmmmm so where do you find it? And what level should you be??
@LiamCroft According to the blog post he'll be back, so you'll get more than one chance to beat him. Doesn't specifically say when he'll be back, though.
@ShogunRok This kind of explains the FFXV Carnival x-over now don't it? That creature is straight out of FFXV. I actually thought the screenshot WAS of FFXV when I first saw it. I think the 4 figures clad in black tricked my brain.
Would be great if you could tackle these in co-op
