The Last of Us: Part II is still a subject of much secrecy. As Naughty Dog keeps itself busy with the impending Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, the developer hasn’t said a whole lot about Joel and Ellie’s upcoming adventure – although we do know that the title will have a motion captured pig. That’s left fans trying to figure out things for themselves, and a group of eagle-eyed Reddit users appear to have uncovered the setting.
It seems that the game – or part of it at least – will be set in Seattle, the home of Nirvana and the Space Needle. We’ve embedded all of the discoveries below, but do check out the original thread for much more sleuthing:
Of course, this is just based on one trailer, and if the sequel’s anything like its predecessor, there’ll be a lot of travel in The Last of Us: Part II. Still, it’s quite interesting to see this little tidbit extracted from the title’s first trailer almost a year after it debuted. Which locations are you expecting the hotly anticipated follow-up to take you to? Click quietly in the comments section below.

Well that's a thing!
Wow, imagine if this time was dedicated to real crime and mystery solving! Just kidding - if true, it does show the level of detail that ND go to.
Really? A news article based on Reddit 'investigators'? You know, the same clownshoes who try to pin innocent people on bombings etc. Leave detective work to proper detectives. I wouldn't be surprised if they made signs on their basement bedroom door like Gareth from 'The Office' "Gereth Keenan invetigates"
Its funny you post this mere days after your rant about heresay too ffs haha.
Must be a slow news day, need to keep the advertising hits coming somehow.
@solocapers ... Okay. Would you like to refute anything in the article or are you just here to score points?
Cmon.. you did slate the internet chatter at the weekend then post this. You should have atleast half expected it.
This is awesome! I'm from Seattle, and I love seeing the city in video games. Infamous: Second Son is one of my favorite games, and their interpretation of Seattle was spot on. Granted, the Sucker Punch studio is right there next to Seattle so it makes sense. I'm interested to see Naughty Dog's take on a post-apocalyptic version of it. Also, Troy Baker is in both of these games. Interesting.
@solocapers Why? Those PlayStation Plus rumours were absolute bull, whereas there's clear, demonstrable evidence here. Context.
Its not as if its the first time Reddit users have made up evidence to fit their story though. Cough, Boston bombing. Cough.
Anyway, it probably is right tbf.. just pointing out the hypocrisy. Just bursting your balls a bit!
Yes, that is Seattle and I am happy to have moved far away from that city around a year ago. I will not mind visiting a apocalyptic video game setting of it though and blast through some infected commies, techies, and overpriced coffee drinking hispters though.
I will take Reddit 'investigators' over mainstream media any day of the week
I couldn't care less where its set myself - its not like I would identify any landmarks regardless as I have very little/no knowledge of the US. I have no doubt though that Naughty Dog will make a stunning looking game and it will be very high on my wanted list - as soon as it gets a confirmed release date - until then it will sit in my 'looking forward to' list. I can't put it in my most wanted until it has a release date as I keep that for games that I know when I can buy them.
@get2sammyb "Come as you are"
The article was worth it for the snappy tag line. You still got it.
@Ryno "and blast through some infected commies, techies, and overpriced coffee drinking hispters though"
If your PS4 purchase is still relatively recent you can do all of that in inFamous 3: 2nd Son. I haven't seen it on sale much but I think it's normally $20 now, it was worth that and I have no concept of Seattle, 1 of the few big US cities I haven't been to. I didn't like it as much as 1 or 2 though.
I've actually been playing though Last of Us on PS4. It's been alright so far. Story is definitely better than gameplay when it comes to this game.
It's unlikely we'll see more until Lost Legacy is on shelves (which isn't far off), but I'm definitely interested.
@DerMeister. Yeah that's the thing with tLoU, I though the gameplay was pretty standard and uninspired, still the experience of playing through it was absolutely fantastic. The characters, the story, the environments, the suspense and the attention to detail really vowed me. And the last mission you do was the best (for me at least), the gameplay actually worked well for that last section.
Rain then.
Didn't they basically cross the US from east to west in the first game (from Boston to Salt Lake City)? Seattle is an afternoon stroll for Joel and Ellie.
I need this game right now, I really hope we see more of it before the end of the year
