As expected, Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age has broken through the 1 million mark on PlayStation 4 during its second week on the market. The massively popular role-playing release came very close to hitting 1 million after just a few days, but having shifted another 200,798 copies since the last sales charts article, the title's now sitting pretty at 1,151,113 units. Good stuff.
Elsewhere, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy made its Japanese debut in fifth, moving 30,384 copies on Sony's home console. Certainly not a huge amount, but not a downright terrible return by any means. Meanwhile, the PS4 itself got through another 50,000 units. An unsurprising drop, but perhaps not as steep a decline as some were expecting.

Looks like the 3DS version will be outsold by the PS4 version. Much sharper drop on 3DS in the second week. Interesting.
Disappointing from Crash. I thought that was going to do way better.
Great to know that DQXI is doing so well, something to look forward to next year when it arrives on these shores.
@get2sammyb i didn't. japan has good taste (in contrast to UK)
If crash was to successful in the territory it would need to remake those old comercials
@manu0 Well seeing as the original Crash trilogy sold by the bucketload in Japan, you may need to rethink that comment.
Wow, look at the software sales..3ds is dead huh?..
And it already outsold SFV, Mass Effect Andromeda too.
@BLP_Software I doubt it...
@Onion_Knight not necessarily otherwise the PS4 ver would have outsold it immediately
@Derpie1 I think that's supposed to be sarcasm. 1/2 the list are 3DS games, and nearly all of them have 100k or more, and hardware-wise they collectively sold 60k across all the models. That thing ain't dying yet, that's for sure.
Releasing at #5 is pretty good for N.Sane Trilogy. It just won't beat out brand new games under big IPs like Dragon Quest, Splatoon, and Ace Attorney.
Japan is still utterly in love with DQ games, I see.
Even with the preference for handhelds over consoles, it's hard to imagine anyone opting for the 3DS version over the PS4 one. The console version is just so gorgeous looking. Hopefully the Switch release splits the difference in that regard (both portable and mostly as good looking as the PS4 version).
@BLP_Software
Very interesting. Maybe people jump to Switch.
Good sales for PS4 version and for PS4.
@get2sammyb
Yeah. Crash dont conquer Japan gamers.
@Ralizah thing is w the 3DS ver at least the Japanese people will have TIME to play it thanks to the convenience of it maybe it can look SLIGHTLY better on the Vita but there's a bigger audience in Japan...
Cus it's such a busy country...
I honestly don't get why they don't port it on psv (and switch). It would definitely sell more than it would cost them for the port. Makes zero sense to me.
@naruball What would?
@Derpie1 I definitely get that, but, personally, I don't think I could get over how much better the PS4 version looks.
Again, this is why I'm eager to see the Switch version. Versatility + power.
Bought the game, but currently busy getting through the FFXIV Stormblood story line.
Graphics are incredible for an anime-style game. The artstyle is quite unique and on my PS4 Pro some textures and objects look more realistic than actual realistic games.It is quite an interesting combination.
Will jump into it once I am through with the Stormblood storyline.
@get2sammyb The psv port.
