Final Fantasy fishing spin-off Monster of the Deep will take the bait on 21st November on the PlayStation 4, it’s been announced. You’ll be able to lure in a pre-order for the PlayStation VR powered angling experience soon, with publisher Square Enix handing out dynamic themes and in-game outfits for anyone who registers their interest.
Here’s the blurb: “In this brand-new VR experience, players will head out on a fishing expedition with Noctis and his crew across picturesque locations in Eos. The Story Mode places players in the middle of an exhilarating and action-packed showdown with a menace that lurks in the depths, while the Free Fishing Mode allows players to take in the sights, sounds, and scenery through a variety of challenges.”
You’ll be able to create your own avatar using the same character creation tools leveraged by Final Fantasy XV’s online co-op component, and there’ll be various rods, reels, lures, and lines for you to hook. “While you can have a genuine fishing experience through this game, you can also enjoy showdowns with unique creatures that do not exist in reality,” the press release hilariously reveals.

Hook, Line and Shinra. Fixed it for you.
Still...this is nice. Also announced a Pocket Edition of the game I think for Mobile. This game is like Rayman 2. Everywhere.
Well its not on Mac, Switch or my toaster yet so....
But FFXV Toast Edition. Come on Square.
@BLP_Software Yeah, that's a better pun. Oh well.
@MadAussieBloke
@MadAussieBloke I don't know what that is to be honest. Link me?
@MadAussieBloke Does it actually work, then? I scanned the page, how can a cable boost the native render?
If been watching mixed reviews about that on YouTube. I'm tempted, as like you, I love VR, but some say it doesn't do anything while others say it does. Haha.
@MadAussieBloke Ah crap. Looks like I'm going to have to spend some money then. What's the cable situation like now it's added more to the mess? I'm already getting annoyed with the constant switching to use the HDR modes on the Pro.
@MadAussieBloke cool thanks. I'll definitely look into it.
