Everybody's Golf Mobile 1

ForwardWorks’ first project is off to a strong start, it seems. Sony’s new smartphone game developer launched a mobile adaptation of Everybody’s Golf in Japan on 4th July, and it’s already been downloaded more than two million times according to the platform holder. There’s no word on how much money the free-to-play iOS and Android release is bringing in, but the company seems pretty pleased with its performance so far.

This is just the first of many planned mobile releases, with Aida of Sky and Sea due out in October. Development on that one is being led by Oji Hiroi, who’s perhaps best known for creating the Sakura Wars series.

There’s still no word on whether Everybody’s Golf will release in the West, with ForwardWorks primarily targeting the mobile obsessed Japanese market right now. We’re still hopeful that it will see a European and North American launch, though – even if it’s primarily used as a promotional tool for the forthcoming PlayStation 4 game. We’ll keep you updated.
