Taking part in the closed beta for Final Fantasy XV's multiplayer expansion, are you? Then you'll want to make sure the beta is downloaded and ready to rock by hitting up the PlayStation Store. Weighing in at just over 13GB, you can nab the beta right now -- just make sure that you search for it, as we couldn't find it on the store page for Final Fantasy XV.
The beta is set to begin tomorrow, on the 3rd August. To take part, you'll need to have purchased the game's expansion pass and be a PlayStation Plus member. We'll definitely be bringing you some impressions later this week.

i'll be downloading it later, when i can get access to my PS4 but i'm actually looking forward to it
wonder if we are allowed to live stream it?, it's a beta after all and your not always allowed
@b1ackjack_ps I currently don't have the main game installed but I was able to download this. Don't know if you need the main game to actually start playing the beta, though.
Downloading, and very curious to see what it is like!
The free July update to the main game was also kinda cool for anyone interested: suits that are supposed to look like Power Ranger's but ended up pretty differently, a new side quest and boss and new combat mechanic + graphical fixes.
I don't mean to sound dumb, but where do I download it? I'm from America, so it might not have updated yet, but this seems like a weird thing, so can I just find it through the normal DLC tab, or... what?
Does this come with the character customisation thing they're working on?
Gonna be checking out YouTube vids for the beta's gameplay as I still haven't purchased the Season Pass, yet.
@Matroska a basic version of it, apparently.
"We'll definitely be bringing you some impressions later this week."
Im afraid to say given the hate this game seems to receive from Push Square staff for actually taking an active interest in pushing out content, and most of it free at that ill be taking whatever is said with a pinch of salt.
@sajoey Search for it on the store as the article says
I'm looking forward to reading about this. I didn't buy the pass so won't be able to play. I must say it sounds pretty cool.
@Feena yeah it also fixed some of the asset pop in issues we was getting on standard PS4's due to the last PS4 Pro update (another reason ALL Pro updates should be optional, let people who want them download them off PS Store or something)
it's still there though but nowhere near as bad as it was, at least entire mountain ranges are no longer popping up out of nowhere, just the odd tree or house right now so hopefully Square will be able to get it back to how it used to be
@solocapers If content is rubbish, content is rubbish - doesn't matter if it's free. Hopefully the multiplayer expansion is actually good - it sounds like it could be.
@ShogunRok The new armor released was rubbish - see post #4 - you guys should have covered that. It's just ugly black, not good at alll. I'll be trying it out though at that dungeon you need to fly too, I still have problems landing.
Also in the update, the awesome Chocobo Moogle Festival is back 'til the end of September.
@ZurapiiYohane it's in the free games section for some reason
@Bliquid not for the Beta no, just the season pass but you will require the full game for it's full release (it says so on the FFXV website)
