Oh boy, this footage of Dragon Ball FighterZ looks really promising. Leaked before E3 began but official revealed at Microsoft's press conference, the title is being developed by Arc System Works - the studio behind BlazBlue and Guilty Gear. It's safe to say that Akira Toriyama's timeless work is in capable hands, then.
The big deal here is that FIghterZ seems to be a 'proper' fighting game. We're not saying XenoVerse 2 isn't a real beat-'em-up, but we are saying it's not designed with serious competition in mind. Indeed, very few anime-related releases are. This, on the other hand, looks like it could be heading down a more competitive route. Check out the Japanese gameplay that we've embedded courtesy of YouTube user PS360HD2 and see what you think.

Please include more than just characters from the three DBZ arcs we've played through countless times...memories of the roster of Tenkaichi 3.
This game looks so good and is going to very competitive.
There seems to be many fighting games coming out.
HOLYSHIT! this does looks more balanced.
In Arc System Works I trust!
@Broosh Not a chance of this having a character roster anywhere near the size of Tenkaichi 3's. It took three games for them to get a roster that big, and most of the cast were clones of other characters. I think we're probably looking at a small roster, here.
Game looks amazing.
My biggest gripe with Xenoverse was the lack of any kind of complicated, long combos. All a person did was spam square, press triangle then press one button to fly behind them and either hit square or a special move (I think that's how it went, been a while since I've played it).
Looks like they're changing that with this game, and I like it. I like it a lot.
The commentary by those Japanese dudes is hilarious haha
@ShogunRok A guy can dream, right? Haha Yeah no doubt they won't ever get a roster like that again but it's upsetting when we get countless games with around 15-20 of the same people when the Dragon Ball Universe has such character variety.
They've brought back ultimate moves destroying the stage. I am so ready for this!
