Revealed during Bethesda's E3 2017 press conference, the company's Creation Club seems like a pretty cool idea at a glance, but there's a catch. Essentially, Creation Club will bring high quality content to Fallout 4 and Skyrim - Special Edition - bits and pieces made by both Bethesda and "the best community creators". However, a "credits" system means that you'll have to stump up some cash for any stuff that you want to add to your game. Hmmmm.
So they're premium mods, right? For the most part yes, but content that you purchase and download from the Creation Club won't have any effect on you save files, and they won't disable Trophies. Think of them as 'official' mods, we guess. They're heading to PlayStation 4 this summer.

I was half asleep so I didn't see the credits stuff in the trailer. Rewatched it while I was writing this article and... yeah. Safe to say this hasn't gone down especially well!
It's the same with Minecraft - when you have been getting something for free for years but now they bring in a process where you have to pay using a currency you buy with real money, nobody likes that.
I can see this as Bethesdas way of getting proper mods on PS4 as these will class as checked, moderated and paid for in-game DLC which games like ESO have and are allowed. Sony probably doesn't have an issue as there shouldn't be any security or performance concerns if Bethesda moderate correctly.
However, I wouldn't buy any - i've not even used any of the free ones in Skyrim or Fallout - I've not had the urge to even look at them.
@Turniplord Yeah I cant grasp who even has the time to play mods on +3 year old games when there is so much newer quality content out there, each to their own I guess tho..
This looks like Bethesda's answer to the paid mods fiasco that they were trying to do on Steam.
They're trying THIS again?
I personally don't think it's bad as long as they're like full DLC's. Wouldn't pay for crap that doesn't add to the game though... Then again pretty sure Xbox just gets mods for free that actually add to the game compared to the mods out for PS4 now.
I would never pay a dime for a mod, especially when I can get them for free on PC.
To be honest, Bethesda can take this idea and shove it.
