Here at Push Square we like to have a bit of meat on our articles - just relaying the facts gets a little boring after a while. However, there are times when there simply isn't much that we can add to a topic - and that's definitely the case with the latest Japanese sales charts.
With no new PlayStation 4 titles making it into the top 20, the software charts make for an especially boring read this time around. Fortunately, things aren't quite so dire on the hardware side of things, with Sony's home console enjoying a reasonable increase in sales. After a recent slump, the PS4 is back above the 20,000 mark.

Is it right that 1-2 switch has sold more than breath of the wild so far in Japan?
Mad.
@themcnoisy Where are you getting that idea from?
@Ralizah my mistake I was looking at BoTW wiiu figures.
Seriously just how much is GTA v gonna sell
^ Seriously! what's with people and GtaV? It has got legs even in JAPAN!?
@Feena Never mind GTA5, you know what's even crazier? Mario Kart 7 is still selling! (It's in the top 30.)
Combine PS4/Pro numbers and it's over 30k.
Considering how putrid home console sales have been in Japan for a while now it's nice to see the PS4 hasn't completely dropped off the map. Switch also needs to keep selling as it has. It's a portable first but it's also more than competent as a home system so hopefully both can keep combing for about 100K+ a week. Eventhough that isn't near what consoles used to sell in Japan I think that's still large enough of a market that it would make it tough for some developers like SquareEnix, Namco and Capcom to leave the home market completely.
GTA V had sold crazy numbers for years on end. Rockstar must be rollin' in the dough.
Good to see the ps4 and switch doing well. Pity my favourite console ps vita has lost its legs since the switch release.
