Sony's looking to shift some hardware this Easter weekend, as it's announced that at select retailers in the UK you'll be able to get a free copy of Horizon: Zero Dawn with the PlayStation 4 Pro. This is a time limited deal – with the offer set to expire on 23rd April stock withstanding – so you may want to get a move on if you're tempted.
Stores that are carrying the promotion include GAME, Argos, and, of course, Amazon. You'll be paying just shy of £350 for the super-charged system and the critically acclaimed game, which is a good deal as far as we're concerned. Any interest in this from any of you? Gutted, bought a PS4 Pro last Friday.
@Worlock_ed That's a bummer! Hate it when stuff like that happens.
@get2sammyb Yeah but I try and look at the positives. I was happy to spend that much at the time so I can't grumble too much.
@Star-Lord Nice! Has it been delivered yet? What do you think?
Wow, sammy writes an article about Sony focusing on the Pro and then this happens, nicely done.
I'm guessing this ins't a real new bundle, more of a "buy the Pro, we'll give you the game box" deal?
Will be interesting to see what they do this holiday. I did look for Pro deals last Christmas but I could find any, it seemed to be $399 w/o a game everywhere. I couldn't pass up the Slim for $218 at Target bundled w/ Uncharted 4. As big as H:ZD has been I doubt it will remembered by the holiday.
If I were Sony I'd bundle my cheap Slim w/ something family friendly. What that is I don't yet know as Lego Dimensions, Skylanders and Disney Infinity are all gone, but surely something has to take it's place. Maybe SWB2? Maybe Dreams? Then I'd bundle Pro w/ something aimed at the current PS4 owners to get them to upgrade, either GoW4 or Spiderman, whatever releases this holiday. Maybe CoD or RDR2 if one is improved dramatically on Pro.
E3 should be fun this year. I wonder if we'll get a PS4 Slim + PSVR bundle for $500, $600 bundled w/ Pro? Guess it depends if Sony wants to actually maintain PSVR or if it's another Move, Wonderbook, PSTV or 3D display.
ShopTo.Net is the cheapest i have seen for just the console and game. http://www.shopto.net/video-games/ps4/PS4HW294-ps4-pro-1tb-console-horizon-zero-dawn?gclid=CJ6eo7eOpNMCFcUp0wodJKgBZA £344.86 delivered.
PC world are also offering the bundle but with a venom twin docking station for £360, a 3month PS+ for £365 or both the docking station and 3month PS+ for £375
These are a great combination and if I'm honest Horizon is the first game that really justified me having a Pro, hopefully the first of many great experiences on the hardware
This is hands down the game I would recommend playing to show off what the Pro can do.
I got the pro the day it released, and preordered hzd. Today I got the Platinum!! First one I ever got, if u can get this bundled together I would get it, definitely worth it. GOTY hands down, but I think we all know that.
@rjejr I'm excited for E3 2017 myself. There should be alot of new games, plus release dates for most of the games announced in 2016.
Just wish I could afford to go there in person, but thank god for free PushSquare .
@ToddlerNaruto My sister offered to take me to E3 a couple of years ago, but then her job decided to send her to the Cannes Film Festival instead. She didn't offer to take me there though.
@rjejr Thankfully E3 is 100% open to the public now, but last I heard the entrance fees/tickets are crazy expensive.
Expo Pass (3-day Show Floor Pass)
$149 Early Bird Pricing (Only 1,000 Available) SOLD OUT
$249 Standard Pricing
I'm sorry but $250 is just too much for only three measly days. Maybe if it was for 1-2 weeks it wouldn't be so bad...
@ToddlerNaruto $249 Standard Pricing
Yeah, I think I'll spend that on a Switch instead.
@rjejr If I had that much spare cash on hand, I'd go buy myself a PS4 Slim right now, instead of waiting until BF 2017/BF 2018.
Either way, here's hoping they release an official Horizon: Zero Dawn bundle during Black Friday in the U.S., I might be tempted.
@ToddlerNaruto I doubt they'll bundle a 9 month old game, not their style. Maybe Spiderman, GoW or RDR2 or CoD yet again.
On the bright side, Horizon will be $19.99 by BF.
@rjejr Oh yeah, you got a point. I guess I meant a PS4 Slim/Pro bundle with Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, God of War, Spider-Man, or Red Dead Redemption 2.
Nah, probably closer to $30 New by BF 2017, but that may still be tempting.
