Apparently leaked ahead of its official announcement, a brand new Naruto game is in the works titled Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker. Judging by the trailer that we've embedded above, it'll centre around 4-on-4 multiplayer battles in arena-like maps. The project looks reasonably far along as far as development goes, so we wouldn't be surprised to see it launch later this year.

@ZurapiiYohane well TECHNICALLY he hasn't made more Naruto he made a new series Boruto so he technically kept his word ^_^
on topic i'm actually quite excited about this one, a Naruto game that ISN'T a fighting game could be fun, as long as it's not done as badly as those 360 exclusives by Ubisoft
still i'm not sure who the developer is Soleil, what other games have they done?, it would be nice to know so we can get an idea of their quality
Judging by the trailer, the combat looks really slow.
Of course, I tried to like the Ninja Storm games, but the combat was way too simplistic and samey that I never got hooked with it. That's why I hope that, if we get a new DBZ game, it'll be different from Xenoverse because their starting to go down that road as well.
This looks so cool!!!!!!! This would look cool on switch too......(dont get me wrong im sony and nintendo fan and want both of them to thrive in this market)
@Tsurii yeah a sequel to Impact would be nice but i think CC2 is pretty much done with Naruto, at least for now
Wow, this is something I didn't realise I wanted but I'm already super excited for this!
@FullbringIchigo Funnily enough I actually really liked the Ubisoft games for Xbox 360. Horses for course and that.
@Churchy i enjoyed the 2nd one to be honest but once i finished it i had no inclining to play it ever again, so i think it was my fandom that got me through it
the main issue with them was they were so badly done, like they were done as quick as possible before Bandai Namco got the licence for all systems (series licences are sold individually for all systems, back in the early days of the 360 some companies sold their licences to more than one company for maximum profits, it's why the PlayStation got the Ultimate Ninja series by Bandi Namco, why XBOX had Rise of a Ninja & The Broken Bond by Ubisoft and Nintendo had the Clash on Ninja Series by Tomy)
@FullbringIchigo I definitely agree that The Broken Bond is the better of the two, and it's hard to go back to Rise of a Ninja after that; they improved a lot about it. I think for me it's more about the direction and feel of the game. I liked having Naruto as a more open-world game, as it felt more like I was in that world, and I enjoyed the fighting system; it felt like you had more agency as a player in the fights, whereas the Ninja Storm series felt a bit more closed in that way. Ninja Storm feels a bit more straightforward and is about the spectacle, which is fine, it just depends on what you prefer in terms of the approach to fighting and exploration.
I didn't know that about the series licenses, and I wondered why that was the case, so thank you for the explanation; it fills it on why everything was so messy then!
Either way, we can both agree on our excitement on this upcoming game. Who knows, we might get in a game or two if it turns out to be good!
@Churchy the 1st Ninja Storm game had a good open world though, not as big as The Broken Bonds but still fun to explore
i always wondered why they dropped it for the more simple one we got in Storm 2 at first i thought it was because it went multiplatform and they needed to save room on the 360's DVD's but then Storm 4 came out on PS4 & XB1 and it was still the same
still i'm liking how this game is looking although i'm still unsure as to what type of game it is, is it a fighter, is it a platformer, is it online only?
and i wonder how much of Boruto it will cover too after all the Manga has only just started it's first new arc after the retelling of the Boruto Movie and the Anime has only had 1 episode thus far
@FullbringIchigo Yeah, the world was more open in the first one. It's a shame why they dropped it afterwards. However, I love the soundtrack in the Ninja Storm series, especially number two.
Yeah, it is a bit hard to tell what they're going for as they're talking about freedom of movement in the trailer. If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say it's going to be more of an arena fighter but I'm not entirely sure. Only time will tell!
Hmm, in that case this might still be a ways off, unless they've had access to a lot of what's going on in the manga and/or anime.
It's going to be fun to find out!
@Churchy i wouldn't imagine they would be allowed to go past the Manga or Anime though but they maybe able to get things ready for DLC or possible sequels
OH OH!, according to the official press release it's only saying Online right now and i REALLY hope that isn't true because online fighters end up being full of cheaters ans spammers and become unplayable to people who don't spend all their time on it
this game WILL fail if it has NO offline, single player options
