The Horizon: Zero Dawn marketing machine just won't stop squeezing out trailers, will it? Sony's latest effort is a shorter clip that quickly goes over the making of the game's open world, with developer Guerrilla Games stating that you won't encounter a single loading screen during your travels.
We asked Sammy - who recently reviewed the release - whether this was true, and he says it is; you only see loading screens when you either fast travel or bite the dust. Not bad for a title that looks as pretty as this.
How high is your hype meter right now? Are you grabbing Horizon on day one? Let your arrows fly in the comments section below.

Woo-hoo fast travel!
The FFXV loading screens are horribly long at some points but mostly when starting. U4 is always super quick but the areas are a lot smaller.
Are these H:ZD articles ever going to stop? Still 1 week to launch.
Today there shouldn't be any need to load into a building, its just a bit ridiculous. Fallout 4 was very crumby about it.
I've been playing Gravity Rush 2 lately and can go between the two cities without any loading screens.
It makes me happy.
Nice, Some games loading screens really ruin the experience. FF X - if you die it goes right back to the logo screen!
Nice!
Aww man I'm really falling for this.. I've not been that interested to be honest and I should know better, I've been playing games for 35 years. But the relentless hype is really messing me up and I can't stop thinking about playing it!! Day 1 for me now, yep well and truly suckered! Ha ha
@get2sammyb
Does the game load a lot of time at startup?
Already preordered the limited edition
And if the ps4 pro patch can give the game 50-60 fps, I think I'm gonna buy ps4 pro although it's priced $450 here in asia (I want to buy it at $400 before).
Love it. I remember playing last of us on PS3 and having one load time when you first start and that was it.
I preordered my digital copy of horizon yesterday and just got done purchasing a 65" samsung suhd with a pro for horizon and mass effect andromeda. Tuesday cant come fast enough.
Seamless areas are nice, but if it means that the initial load is longer, I would rather have that load split up. I generally play games on their maximum difficulty and that loading screen for when you fail, really adds up.
What about quick travel? Or is that feature not existant?
@Radbot42 "you only see loading screens when you either fast travel or bite the dust"
Its a very impressive engine to have them visuals and not have one loading when in game, to just highlights crap engine's some 3rd parties use still to this very day.
According to Digital Foundry, the game takes around 40s when you first Load up the game, around 10s after you die to restart and a bit more than that when you fast travel - regardless of Console.
