You'll need to wring your hands a little longer before getting stuck into Resident Evil 7 on the PlayStation 4 this week, as the game has been updated with an 806.1MB day one patch. The update – which adds additional Trophies and support for upcoming expansion packs – is available to download right now, a day ahead of launch.

The day one patch notes

Judging by the Trophies that have been added, the update is preparing the game for its first DLC drop: Banned Footage Vol. 1. You'll gain access to this as part of the release's Season Pass, and you can find more details about that through here. Remember that there is free content on the way as well.

The patch notes also reference various bug fixes, though we didn't encounter any issues during our time with the game. You can watch our video review embedded above, or read our full written review through here.
