Sony's just smashed through the 50 million units milestone and registered the biggest Black Friday in the brand's history – but it's not done yet. The platform holder has announced that it will be once again dropping the price of the PlayStation 4 to $249.99 in the United States starting 11th December through to 24th December – and yes, you'll be getting a free copy of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End as part of the deal.
It is a PS4 Slim rather than a PS4 Pro, so do keep that in mind – but obviously that's totally fine if you're not interested in all of the bells and whistles that the Japanese giant's premium box brings. "We want to give thanks to our PlayStation community for continuing to make PlayStation their top destination for gaming," wrote brand marketing boss John Koller on the PlayStation Blog. "Here's to an exciting new year ahead, and happy holidays everyone!"

I wonder since it says MSRP if any stores will be piggy backing off of that to have it on sale even lower? At this rate they'll have to stop making it next fall and only have the Pro next Christmas. Could happen.
Sony should run a marketing campaign:
PS4 Slim now only $249, about the same price as a NES Classic Mini on eBay and easier to find.
Why don't they discount the Pro !
@hieveryone Because it's sold out at full price. They can't satisfy demand as it is, and dropping the price will only increase the problem while eating into their bottom line.
@rjejr Surely they'll get the Slim down to $199 next Christmas?
I wouldn't be surprised if the Slim hits $199 within 3-4months. It doesn't appear to be offering 'great' value when compared to the XB1s with its 4k HDR player (and still cheaper than a dedicated player) or the PS4 Pro which is a lot more powerful for not a lot more - the price of a couple of games.
The slim to me, rightly or wrongly, seems like the budget choice for those that can't afford or Justify the cost of a Pro or for people who want/need a 2nd system. I know technically its still a PS4 and no different from the original PS4 in what it can do but now the Pro is out, it seems a budget choice - kind of like buying an iphone 4 when for a little bit more could have an iphone 6/7 (whatever number they are on now).
@rjejr haha, nice!
@get2sammyb pro sold out? do you live in a small island? everybody is picking the slim with the 3 game pack , its a stract from sony for people to don't think the pro is required for VR , they already said it
@get2sammyb Yeah, but does it make sense to market a $199 console on sale for $149, or market a $349 Pro on sale for $299? Ok, maybe they won't kill out Slim entirely, but I look at a lot of ads, and all thus years sales are for the Slim, theregore, all this year's marketing is for the Slim. By next year the Slim could be the 12GB PS3, it was out there if you looked for it, but nobody cared.
Other option, bundle the Slim with PSVR for $499 next holuday. Basically a half price PS4 for playing PSVR.
Either way, next BF I'm expecting Pro to be the lead prominent console, Slim will be relegated to - well, if you really have to.
Hopefully the Pro's price will plunge down to $350 New or cheaper next Black Friday, and will be bundled with games too.
