Final Fantasy XV is getting its first slice of downloadable content next week in the form of the Holiday Pack+. It'll arrive on the 22nd December in Japan, and we imagine that a Western release can't be too far off. The pack includes a bunch of accessories that boast various effects - like more regular item drops from enemies - and 'tickets' for an event called the Moogle Chocobo Carnival that's coming in January. We'll no doubt hear more about the latter in the near future. It also contains some costumes for Noctis and picture frames for the photos that Prompto takes.
Apparently, the Holiday Pack+ will only be available to those who own the game's season pass, but it's worth mentioning that there'll be a regular, free Holiday Pack for those who don't. This'll include something called a 'Level Stopper', a new victory song, and a carnival t-shirt for Noctis, which will become available in January along with Moogle Chocobo Carnival event. Phew.
The update that launches alongside the DLC is arguably the bigger news here, though. This patch will add a New Game+ mode, allowing you to carry over your saved data into a new game. We don't know the exact details on this yet, but we assume that things like character levels and equipment will make the jump. Could be useful for when Square Enix decides to patch in these supposedly new story elements. Some picture frames for your photos will be added in this update, too.
Well, that was all rather convoluted, wasn't it? We'll let you know when all of this is hitting Western PS4s, but until then, let us know if you like the sounds of this in the comments section below.

Wonder if it will come with the 60fps pro patch
When the 60 fps patch coming out?
Great news, although I'm not so sure on these ticket events. Sounds pretty dodgy to me.
@themcnoisy Why? Did the Gold Saucer ticket in FFVII also seem dodgy to you? It just seems to be an in-game ticket to a festival in the game. If you read the source article that other sites are getting their info from, it has a picture of it.

gimme gimme more gimme more gimme gimme moooaaa ^^
Chocobo Carnival sounds brilliant. Cant wait to learn more. Love this game
Sounds good. Wish the festival was over Christmas week though
@consolfreak1982 it's Cidney, b***h.
@Matroska 30,000 gil was taking the mick though.
@Matroska A chance to add Microtransactions perhaps? This is Squeenix we are talking about here. Great game though.
This reeks of time-sensitive content, which is bad news for me. Hope I'm wrong.
@themcnoisy I expect microtransactions will come to FF15 as time goes by. Better to just accept that now.
@kyleforrester87 @Fath I hope you both are wrong.
I'm going to echo everyone else's questions: will this come with the PS4 Pro patch?
@Feena omg haha someone understood lol haha youre awesome just Sayin
@themcnoisy Doesn't make much difference to me, doesn't detract anything from the game that's been released and is in my PS4 right now, any extra stuff down the line is a potential bonus that I'll take or leave depending on whether I see value in it. Of course I don't want to see it dripping with microtransactions but I can't say I'm bothered if they do release some down the line once the bulk of the DLC is done with.
Either way I'll be getting the season pass for this update!
@b1ackjack_ps Soundtrack is already available, but it was exclusive to the premium edition I believe.
FFXV is actually the first season pass I bought so let's see how much this pays off. Got it digitally so I'll be more inclined to jump back in.
What are the odds that this carnival event will be the perfect folly for a IrisXNoct date^^? Would prefer Cindy & Promto though.
I'm a little bit worried about the 60fps update. Didn't square promise that one for December? I haven't got a Pro but it doesn't spell good news for the rest of the updates/DLC if they are already getting delayed.
I guess patching the story is more important right now.
Hopefully it'll come with the 60fps patch.

I've finished the game, got my platinum, have The Last Gaurdian waiting to be played yet I'm STILL on this bloody thing, have enjoyed it a great deal, the story is lacklustre compared to many other games though it's the dungeons and hunts that have actually kept me on it so money's worth, would wish they'd swap the Jump and interact buttons around though, I've spent about half the game jumping when trying to pick something up lol
@Rsco6969 that's actually very aggravating lol I wish they were two different buttons as well
