In its most recent weekly update, Bungie has revealed that it'll be travelling to Anaheim in the near future - presumably to attend the PlayStation Experience, which begins on the 3rd December. As we all know by now, Bungie has shown up at just about every PlayStation press conference since Destiny was originally announced - but what could the developer have up its sleeve for Sony's fan event next month?
Well, that's up for debate - but there are already whispers that Destiny 2 will be officially revealed during the show. Previously acknowledged by both Bungie and publisher Actvision, Destiny 2 is obviously no secret, but does the PlayStation Experience really present the right place and time to show off such an important sequel? We're not entirely sure.
Let's quickly take a step back and analyse the situation. First off, we need to remember that the PlayStation Experience isn't E3. Ever since Sony started hosting this end-of-year event, the company's been using it to highlight less prominent titles such as Yakuza 0 - not necessarily blockbusters like Destiny 2.
What's more, Destiny 2 isn't expected to launch until nearer the end of 2017. With that in mind, surely an E3 reveal next summer would make more sense - unless Bungie, or indeed Activision, is keen to get the hype train moving fairly early.
We also can't forget that, while certainly past its prime, Destiny isn't quite done yet. Its latest expansion, Rise of Iron, released back in September, and limited time events such as the Sparrow Racing League will be making a return before the end of the year. If Bungie has any further plans for Destiny in terms of expansions or other meaningful content, then we're not really sure why it'd be pulling the curtain on its sequel before the game even enters its final year.
Indeed, we could see the developer taking to the stage to talk about future plans for Destiny rather than Destiny 2, but as is always the case in this industry, you should never say never.

Can't see it myself, but a teaser or something like that would be huge for Sony.
Would all but confirm Sony as marketing partner if it's there too, which would be a big coup for PS4.
Definitely the right time. Show off destiny 2 running on the pro. Will definitely boost pro sales.
Could just be destiny update for pro and maybe a few things they got planned for destiny for rest of this/early next year and possibly a destiny 2 logo/official naming/sneak peak cutscene
There's smelly rumours that its gonna be a big show so then maybe. Considering likely release dates Red Dead 2 vs Destiny 2. Both please.
They are probably just going to show some more skins and crap, like always.
When it comes to destiny, I usually have very low expectations.
It'll turn out to be the new Sparrow Racing League, calling it now. And developments for bringing the old raids back, in any way that may come.

Not feeling it myself, more Destiny 1 announcements I think. They wont want to lose players over the next 12 months.
@mrobinson91 And even then I don't know if I'm jumping back in it at any point, got to 400 on all toons already, and got plenty to play. But I do love the armor set for VoG haha

If they do I really hope they go the The Division way and have match making for EVERYTHING!! Don't care what anyone says I love The Division and I completed everything because of match making! Having to use apps or websites is rubbish, also I will wait a year and get Destiny 2 with all the DLC packs for £45! Got burn't once so I will 101% wait on this game.

Honestly my big gripe with them is the sloppiness in which they released past DLC's. just straight up blocking features unless you upgrade, etc. Can't stand them.
it wouldn't be worth going all the way to anaheim to announce some crappy seasonal event. and an upgrade for PS4 pro would be a bit pointless at this stage.. judging from the numbers on my friends list actually still playing destiny, its numbers are long past its peek. 1 in 4 players managed to complete vault of glass, that's down to 1 in 10 for oryx, and 1 in 25 for the new raid. i don't think another dlc is likely.. so a glimpse of destiny 2 might not be out of the question. then again, it could be just as likely to be something naff like an exclusive questline for PS4. haven't played this since last october - hated most of the changes the taken king brought to the game, after playing it for more than 600 hours in its first year. :-/
