Fair warning: there are some potential early-game spoilers in the gameplay that we've embedded below.
Here we have it: over 50 minutes of Final Fantasy XV gameplay, beamed directly from YouTube straight into your eyeballs. Following the game's two month delay, which was announced just the other day, it's perhaps no surprise that Square Enix is attempting to calm disgruntled fans with such a lengthy video.
So, how does it look? Well, it's safe to say that the release still looks very pretty, and the open world environments seem especially pleasant. However, we're still not super keen on the English voice acting, which sounds either incredibly forced or downright stupid at times. Other than that, we can't really complain, although it's obviously impossible to pass judgement on an entire game by watching just one video - even if it is an especially long clip.
How do you think Final Fantasy XV looks? Is it everything you hoped for, or are you feeling underwhelmed? Get comfortable in the comments section below.

The voice acting makes me want to lock myself in an air-proof bunker where I'll die of asphyxiation. You can select Japanese voices without pre-ordering or anything, right?
EDIT: I've just remembered Ramsey's article that said you do have to pre-order for Japanese voices. URGHHH!
EDIT 2: No, that was World of Final Fantasy — there's still hope!
43:44. Includes fishing! My life is over, fishing is the greatest time-sink in every RPG that ever included it.
@FantasyMeister Yep, love a bit of fishing in my RPGs, especially when you can do it in great looking locations.
I actually think the voice acting is quite good. But to each their own I suppose.
@NinjaWaddleDee

Huh... hah... huh... uh? Huh! Huh... hah... uh... huh? Whu...? Huh... hah... hah... ungh... huh... uh... hah...
Imagine if you made a noise every time you did anything. Literally anything.
@ShogunRok buttering toast: Huh....., changing the TV channel: hah....., turning the page of a book: uh....., going to the toilet: ungh (hold on we do that anyway)
"Get Over the Final Fantasy XV Delay"
This wouldn't help me get over it, just make it worse. Nov 29, day after Cyber Monday. I wont be playing this 1 now until Christmas, so that 2 month delay becomes 3 for me. Who knows, maybe they'll delay it until March to release on NX as well.
On the bright side, maybe they'll know what's in the DLC by then.
This was my #1 game for this year, even over U4, pre-ordered it in Jan - Amazon sent me a date change email today - but between the DLC and the delay, maybe I'll just skip it for Horizon. Well until that gets delayed again anyway. It's hard to be a gamer these days.
Looks great here's hoping the delay does the game justice.
@NinjaWaddleDee

The voice acting reminds me of early ps1 games
I liked the graphics and overall look, some of those bosses are great too. what I didn't like was the compiling the waypoint system via talking to the cafe owner and the way missions are doled out over calls on the phone rather than something more real life. So many open world tropes.
@carlos82 Sorry I don't share the opinions of you all.
@themcnoisy As long as the main story is good, I think I'll be satisfied. I'm not one who goes after side missions that much anyway.
@NinjaWaddleDee no offence intended, it's actually the broad range of opinions as to why I use this site.
Hmm, not looking brilliant imo, but the 'wait' mode has made me more hopeful for the combat. I'm not sure two months is enough to polish it up.
@NinjaWaddleDee I think it was a main mission. I'm actually alot more hopeful after watching that video, its been in dark places and the combat in early last years demo (still have my save woop woop) still doesn't look great 16 or so months later. But I enjoyed ff13 for what it was so they cant do any worse than that can they?
You gotta love the comments: "there's something very wrong with FFXV but I can't really put my finger on it". I get it, it's been 10 years in the making. Yes, the game will not be perfect. No game is. The majority of those who waited a long time for this game are of a certain age; are there any truly mind-blowing games these days? We're past that stage I think (of maturity, I daresay), expecting it from this game is just setting yourself up for a huge dissapointment.
Personally, I like what I see with FFXV, it has the elements of games I enjoy so will enjoy this one, but it won't blow me away: games don't do that for me these days (although summoning Ramuh in the Duscae demo came damn close!).
Not watched the video yet but I'm really hoping the final game isn't Farcry Fantasy....
All those uh noises are rediculous too.
There's nothing wrong with the voice acting, and it's a gorgeous game, visually. Still looks unappealing, though. Big, empty world with very little to do (it'd be fine if you could actually make use of all that wilderness like Link can in Breath of the Wild, although fishing was a nice addition); janky real-time combat (which has neither the depth of a good turn-based system nor the satisfying, visceral rush of combat in games like Dark Souls and Bayonetta); obnoxious bro-dude characters you appear to be stuck playing as the entire game; lackluster OST (which is a killer for me, considering how epic and legendary Uematsu's compositions for the Final Fantasy series have been); and, worst of all, a lack of anything approaching an interesting story (although hopefully it will be less incomprehensible than the other Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy games).
@carlos82 To be fair, your picture was still hilarious. And yes, I agree. That is why I love push square.
As much as I am looking forward to this game, I had to cancel my pre order. There are just too many games coming out around that time, I might as well wait until the Holiday season to pick it up when I have more money and time. Until then, I've got Attack on Titan, Pokemon, and Gravity Rush 2 to look forward to. I just don't have enough time then to devote to a long rpg. (Pokemon notwithstanding. I play that in small chunks.)
Edit: Now that I think about it. This game is eerily similar to MGSV in my opinion. I thought that game was maybe too ambitious for its own good, and it ended up being crushed by ticking too many boxes. I hope FFXV doesn't suffer the same fate.
@rjejr
Its not hard. Just plow in your backlog and look for the games that you overlooked at launch and are dirt cheap now. By the time you get your PS4 there will be a ton of those.
@sinalefa "dirt cheap now"
I don't need to buy anything else, well LCU for $16, but I have SO MANY games to play. Long games, like Skyrim, and Kingdoms of Amular: Reckoning. I'll start Bayonetta 2 soon, finished 1 again last night, so good. I really don't need a PS4 ever.
@rjejr Surprised you haven't started asking everyone if you should buy a PS5 yet
I was excited for this game a decade ago. Now I could not care less. Wait mode almost gave me hope enough to purchase it, but that turned out to be a huge disappointment for me. Any game that uses AI companions automatically makes me wary, especially if they're mandatory. I hate buying a game that feels like it's playing itself, and every time I see FFXV, that's exactly what it looks like to me. Pretty, but devoid of compelling gameplay. Yawn.
ok... I want this now.
(sorry i saw this scene & couldn't resist ^_^ )
