Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV is a big investment for Square Enix; the movie is tied directly to the upcoming role-playing game, and features some stunning visuals as well as an expensive English voice cast. Fortunately, for the publisher, the flick seems to be off to a decent start in Japan.
It's grossed 105,611,860 yen - which is about 1 million US dollars - and it's apparently been positively received by many moviegoers. It's also worth mentioning that the film is only being shown in 44 Japanese cinemas, so the numbers were never going to be gigantic, but even so, things seem promising. Now we just have to wait for the Western release.
Will you be giving this a watch once it's out over here? Stay positive in the comments section below.

Images of this film always freak me out. I thought that was a photograph.
I'm sure I read several of the big characters have different voice actors in the film than in the game. So that puts me off. Different voice actor means it's not the same character in my book. Need some continuity in there or it's all a bit of a mess.
Hhahaha this image looks like a cover from any Nickelback album!!
That said I'm very interested in the movie, but I'll await for the eng dub, so I can watch subtitled in Portuguese, without my head hurting from Japanese voice over.
@LieutenantFatman the movie is a prequel right? having different voice actors play younger versions of characters is not that rare
This is probably the most impressive CGI I've ever seen in terms of photorealism
Just found out today, that some of the characters faces in this movie are modeled after the voice actors.
A promising start to FFXV's world by the sounds of it. [remains quietly optimistic.......]
Cant wait for this and FFXV. Finally ordered the deluxe version after finally accepting the fact I'll never get the ultima edition. I think I'll wait to watch Kingsglaive after I beat XV.
"is only being show"
Just wanted to point out a typo.
Also, words can't express how excited I am both for this movie and XV. Hope it delivers. I know I'll love it either way.
