Sammy can rest easy now that Push Square's resident anime fanatic is back in action, so without wasting any time, let's crack on with the Dragon Ball news, shall we?
Bandai Namco has released a short gameplay clip of Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2 which showcases player character transformation. As fans will know, transformations in the first game weren't exactly a highlight, but it looks like things have been tweaked for the better in the upcoming sequel.
From what we understand, transforming will now give you a simple boost in power and speed, which, to be honest, is all that we ever wanted from them. With any luck, this fundamental change will spell the end for special move spamming Super Saiyans, who were the source of many a balance issue in the original XenoVerse.
In any case, check out the footage that we've embedded - which includes non-Saiyan transformations - and then show us how high your power level can go in the comments section below.

Thank god the super/ultimate spamming is gone along with the constant Ki drain while transformed. I'm glad they're going back towards the Budokai and Tenkaichi route with the transformations.
yeah according to this interview the Transformations are called "Awakening Mode" and EVERY race has them

Hopefully nameks get a giant mode to go along with this
I just found it ironic that @get2sammyb likes slogging off anime fans and hates the games, but can't get enough of Shenmue, which could probably pass for an anime.
Don't watch Cory in the House Sammy, your rage will explode.
@BLPs Shenmue only goes anime at the very end of Shenmue 2, though.
@get2sammyb I remember seeing that. I had to pick my jaw up. It wasn't what I expected.
