Final Fantasy 12 XII The Zodiac Age PS4 PlayStation 4 1

In case you missed the news, Final Fantasy XII is being remastered exclusively for the PlayStation 4 – and publisher Square Enix has since added that Vaan's very punchable face will be making its way West in 2017. That's right, The Zodiac Age will be released next year in Europe and North America, as well as its native Japan.

So what can you expect? Well, the beautiful world of Ivalice will look better than ever before, as all of the graphics are being upgraded in gorgeous high-definition. Considering that the original was one of the very best looking PlayStation 2 titles at the time, expect this to look pretty darn stunning on Sony's new-gen hardware.

Also being upgraded is the audio, as Square Enix is re-recording the soundtrack in 7.1 surround sound. Don't worry if you prefer the PS2 music, though, as you'll be able to toggle between the original score and its upgraded counterpart as you please. It's pretty neat of the publisher to include that option for hardcore fans.

Finally, as speculated, this remaster will be based upon the previously Japanese exclusive International Edition, meaning that Western players will be able to experience all of the enhancements that that version included for the first time. And that's all in addition to Trophy support, shorter load times, and much more.
