For obvious reasons, we won't be covering Microsoft's imminent E3 2016 press conference, but it's worth pointing out that Final Fantasy XV will apparently be there. If you've been keeping up over the past couple of days, you'll know that the American company's presser has been leaking like crazy, so this rumour at least seems reasonable to us.
According to NerdLeaks, director Hajime Tabata will be on stage to show off brand new boss fight gameplay. We doubt that Square Enix will have formed some sort of exclusivity pact with Microsoft - we can maybe see a bundle with the all-but-confirmed Xbox One Slim - but you never know with either of these firms. In any case, we'll be posting the rumoured gameplay as soon as it's available.

Oh dear, i'm guessing they reveal FFVIIR will be coming to Xbox One too :/
It could be at both to be fair.
i doubt they would do any exclusive stuff for the XB1 version, Square would be stupid to cut out their biggest market like they did with Tomb Raider, not to mention Square seem to be giving the PS4 a lot of exclusive stuff lately
more than likely there will be a Slim FFXV bundle but i doubt that would do much, most JRPG fans have PlayStation's because that's where most JRPG's are and FF has ALWAYS done worse on XBOX than PlayStation
i think it's just Square wanting to get their FFXV info out at a reasonable time because both Sony's and their own events are on so late
@viciousarcanum would that really matter, does it affect you if it's also on a system you don't own?
besides i still think that FFVII on XB1 might be a long shot considering that Sony was the publisher of the original console game so they still might hold some console rights (PC and consoles require different publishing rights) more than likely that Play it first on PS4 meant it's coming to PC too
To be honest, I could care less about Final Fantasy 15 coexisting on both consoles, but I have a feeling Microsoft might've paid Square something so they'll show gameplay at their event only. I might be exaggerating a bit.
I expect that FF7 and Shenmue will come to MS consoles. I do find it odd that FFxv, even though its multi-platform, is at MS's briefing. The only thing I can think is that MS are attempting to get association with Final Fantasy XV to make in-roads into the Japanese market - its not as if they are doing well there and with Sony having a number of 'Japanese' games (Last Guardian, Gravity Rush, Persona etc) and following on from partnering up with Crystal Dynamix for Rise of the Tomb Raider, this could have opened a door.
According to an article, FFxv would need to sell a LOT of copies to break even (10m I believe I read) so MS coming in with a big sum of money could be too good to turn down to recuperate some of that investment and increase the likelihood of profitability...
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't this start out as a final fantasy versus title that was going to be a play station exclusive, maybe my old memory is playing tricks on me but to be fair it was about a decade ago
Yeah try selling a JRPG to dude bro shooter fans. Since nobody own a XB1 in Japan. Genius.
So what, all it'll mean is less pre orders on PS4. Their loss.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi wouldn't being on more systems mean MORE sales not less
also how does people ordering on XB1 affect PS4 orders, surly all the PS4 owners who were getting it would still get it
Yes, they are trying to sell it to the audience that might not know it's coming or that it is a cool game...makes sense.
I think it's obvious why FFXV is shown on MS's show, because Persona 5 is shown on Sony's.
@wobrussell yes they reannounced it as ffxv in 2013.
just watched it and it was just a game play demo NO EXCLUSIVE stuff, just showed up, played it and left
@FullbringIchigo I missed it, but judging from the PureXbox comments it wasn't anything special. Didn't even announce an X1S bundle. phew
@rjejr they literally just walked on stage said HI played the game and left, nothing else
i got the feeling that they just did it to remind people it's still on the XB1
@ztpayne7 oh good so at least I haven't completely lost my mind yet
Oh and they announced their version of the Neo "Project Scorpio" if anyone is interested
@FullbringIchigo I'm just assuming that more people owning a PS4 are likely to only bother watching the Sony show, that may affect pre orders slightly. Not a huge loss as it's certain to sell millions upon millions regardless. Still think it's odd.
@FullbringIchigo That Scorpio announcement had me picking my Jaw up off the floor!!!! I can't wait - those specs are impressive!!
I shut off during the FFxv - just not my game but seemed pointless to show it at MS's briefing...
@BAMozzy yeah like i said i think they did it just to remind people it's on the system
Can I say the gameplay always looks like a mess? The framerate seemed better...The music is AWESOME but I started to be worried about the gameplay itself.
