Dishonored 2 PS4 PlayStation 4 1

At the end of its tepid E3 presser, Bethesda showed off the first gameplay footage of Dishonored 2.

This started with a good look at what the custom game engine, called Void, can do. Developer Arkane expressed its aim of making the sequel look like a painting come to life, much like the first game, and following a showreel of various locations, we have to say that it looks stunning.

It followed this up with a gameplay demo, focusing on the new playable character, Emily Kaldwin, and her unique powers. You'll be able to play as either Corvo or Emily, and they will each have their own perspectives on the events of the game, encouraging a second play through. The demo was a little slow, but the new powers look great, and there will no doubt be some very cool ways to mix them together for some satisfying takedowns.

We also got a glimpse of a segment where you play as The Outsider, with the ability to traverse time. You'll use this to solve puzzles and stealth your way through goons, swapping between past and present on the fly. Again, this looked like a neat part of the game, and it's nice to see Arkane adding some variety to the missions.

Finally, Bethesda closed the show with a new gameplay trailer, which we've embedded below. The game releases on 11th November, with a limited Collectors Edition also announced. Players quick to pre-order will receive Dishonored Definitive Edition for free, though this seems to be just for a limited time.
