World War Wow
EA's press conference today was about as exciting as an appointment with the dentist, but at least Battlefield 1 ended the show on a high note. The title's latest "gameplay trailer" – which we don't 100 per cent believe is representative of the experience that you'll get on a PlayStation 4 – is extraordinary, bringing a Michael Bay twist to the atrocities of World War I.
Okay, so it's a bit ostentatious and a bit "Hollywood", but boy it looks promising, doesn't it?

Is it very Hollywood-ish.....you can feel your ears getting overpowered as if you were inside a movie theater.
Agree that just straight up gameplay would have been nice, instead of Ubisoft-ing it, but it still looks very good in general concept. Just hopefully your not slaughtering hundreds of Germans to the newest Trap beats. Still, thumbs up.

I like the historical setting, but the hyperactive footage and weird rapping in the background kind of killed this trailer for me.
I just want a decent WW1 shooter with a good single-player campaign and balanced, somewhat strategic multiplayer.
Also, the name is confusing. Is this a remake of the first Battlefield game or something?

That music was pretty bad. Not to mention there's no way this game looks like this in anything but maybe PC.

@thatguyEZ Guess you've never seen battlefield 4 or star wars battlefront running on a console before? They seriously do look frikkin stunning. Not bad for a piece of tech half the price of a pc - which usually requires graphical settings fiddling
@bbq_boy I play BF4 every other day on PS4. It certainly does look good, and I very much appreciate it running at 60fps. But I don't think they'll be able to get something that looks like this running at 60 on PS4/XboxOne, though I suppose they might one the Neo/Scorpio.
@thatguyEZ Isn't that called speculation or cynicism Star Wars Battlefront is able to run at 60fps cos they knocked the resolution down to 900p on PS4. Maybe they could try the same solution? I'm guessing the mega talent working at EA/Frostbite who have probably over 4 years experience on this gen's consoles are tweaking away like there is no tomorrow! In order to give us console gamers (PS4 & Xbox), 60 MILLION STRONG and growing , the best gaming experience they possibly can. Here's hoping for 60fps and a stunning Battlefield 1 on our glorious £250/$350 concoles for the everyman.
@bbq_boy Does Battlefront run at 60? I never picked that up so I wasn't aware. If so, then that definitely makes a difference. Makes me wonder why other devs have such trouble with it.
