Originally released in Japanese arcades all the way back in 1998, The Last Blade 2 is bringing 18 swordsmen together on PlayStation 4 and Vita so that they can once again slice the snot out of each other. This is a tense 2D fighter that became something of a cult release, and it's being revived next month on Sony's current consoles, complete with online multiplayer, cross-platform play, and cross-save functionality.
Boasting some rather pixelated visuals by today's standards, those who can't get past anything but the best when it comes to graphics had better look away now - but at least the title's impressive sprite animation has weathered reasonably well all the same.

The game's slicing its way to the PlayStation Network on the 24th May, and as an added bonus, buyers will nab pleasant PS4 and Vita themes to go along with the release. Until then, shake the dust from your sword and head down into the comments section below.

No cross-buy?
Sweet, I will be picking this up.
@viciousarcanum There's no mention of it, sadly.
@ShogunRok @viciousarcanum
Metal Slug 3 was cross buy, so you never know....
Last Blade 2 is a great game for anybody who likes the late 90s era of 2D fighters.........really unique presentation and the parry system works great.
oh my god
when dreams finally come true
Last Blade 2 is the one of the three games I sadly never got the chance to play since they were never released in EU at that original time.
One of those three was released a while ago before so my hope never died for the others LOL
Im talking about "Garou: Mark of the Wolves" which FINALLY made its way onto my XBOX360 (a while ago) as a download (and - hell - that game really is that brilliant as they all said), and last but not least ... CHRONO CROSS
When Chrono Cross also releases here - someday - I can die as a happy man haha
LastBlade2 is a must have for me. NeoGeo - SNK Fanboy/admirer ever since
Cant wait to finally play this and see how it compares to Samurai Showdown
@consolfreak1982
I think it's better than the Samurai Shodown series to be honest,
