Iffy looking PlayStation 4 spin-off shooter Resident Evil Umbrella Corps will stay frosty a little longer than intended, as Capcom has delayed the title out of its original May release window and into June. It's just a month, of course, but the game will now arrive on 21st June in Europe and North America – the same day as No Man's Sky. Whoops!
In order to ease the wait, the publisher deployed a new trailer showing off the various customisation features that you'll find in the release. These include the ability to attach sights to your weapon all the way through to placing stickers on your mask. There appear to be plenty of options, so at least it's got that going for it, eh?

Welp. There's a delay nobody's upset about.
Even sceptics of No Man's Sky would rather get it than this piece of bad business.
Totally forgot about it. Meh.
Music is sweet though! Touch of 90s Aphex off it.
The only thing this game has going for it is the customization.
The gameplay looks kind of bland.
@DerMeister
Right.......did anybody ask for this game?
What happened Japan? Capcom, Sega, Konami......they all suck! Thankfully we have Level-5, FromSoftware, and Platinum to help balance it out.
I don't reackon it looks that bad yous are just piggy backing each otherlooks fun to me.
"Iffy looking"....hahaha! Honestly I'm bummed out about this, since it looks cool to me. The customization looks fun to mess around with.
Hey everyone, please join me on PSN this June 21st for some Umbrella Corps! Pew pew...!
How devastating. A sh*tty company delays a sh*tty game nobody asked for.
@Grawlog
And MH seems to be exclusive to Nintendo platforms these days. Wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo has its boot planted firmly in Capcom's a$$. Wish Sony had done that with Street Fighter V. There's times to back off, there's other times when a publisher has to be tough. If I were running a company working with Capcom there would be no willingness to 'play nice' because Capcom has proven time and again what a worthless, useless company it is these days when given a little rope.
I actually think it looks kind of cool I mean its not no mans sky levels of cool but I think the PS4 needs a good third person shooter. Its just a shame about the zombies.
Even after it releases Capcom will drop support for this game just like Revelations 2 within the same year. They're better off releasing the RE5 port a little earlier.
Can this just be flushed down the drain instead?
I feel like this game is going to be great as a multiplayer game with good gameplay and everything but will be put down because of the re skin on it which it deserves to be
@readyletsgo
Aphex twin is the mozart of the modern day. Have you tried polygon window? It's him under a different name
To be honest launching it the same day as no mans sky will not make any difference to sales of this game. Its been slated quite a lot already without it even being released. I will give it a go without the prejudgement.
@gingerfrog oh I have indeed. Listening to him since the 90s. I like last year's album (or was that in January just gone?). Gonna stick it on now. Screw work, lol.
I am just waiting for Resi Evil 4 port. Day one for that sucker.
This one -I am struggling to see a unique selling point. However, will wait for the reviews before judging.
Whilst the game isn't exactly on my Radar and I doubt any fans of Resident Evil - particularly the original games - are really looking forward to or expecting it to be a worthy game in the Franchise.
It does seem a bit silly going up against No Mans Sky but NMS is only releasing to PS4 consoles meaning Umbrella Corps has 'little' competition to other platform owners. Its also a different genre and likely to appeal to a different group of people. Obviously some games do cross over - not everyone sticks to just 1 genre. Umbrella Corps looks to offer a Competitive MP and some Single player content too and I believe its cheaper too.
As it stands at the moment, I have more interest in that than No Mans Sky - I still think that will get very repetitive and boring and begin to feel like Deja Vu very quickly - A feeling that you have visited the same planet before.. It doesn't really have a MP and I don't know if its playable 'offline' or requires PS+ either - haven't bothered looking as the game doesn't really appeal.
@Grawlog I think it is telling that I am more interested in a port of an 11 year old game then I am by a new spin off of the installment. Capcom have, at least in their Resi series, completely lost the plot and traded off that name with diminishing returns.
Well, atleast the game looks better than H1Z1 King of the hill or something.
I actually am really looking forward to this! I loved Operation Raccoon City (even though Nemesis completely sucked in that game) and hope this ends up being like that, except with not quite a terrible DLC plan.
