The first half of Street Fighter V's big March update is finally live on PlayStation 4. It adds in the brand new challenge mode, makes tweaks to online lobbies, and allows for both casual and ranked rematches. The second half of the update lands on the 30th, opening up the in-game store so that you can spend some fight money, and, of course, newcomer Alex arrives on that date as well.
If your system hasn't picked up on the update automatically, try pressing the options button while hovering over Street Fighter V's icon, and then select "check for update". The patch itself is a bit of a whopper, sitting at 6.6GB in size - just a shame it couldn't have landed over the Easter weekend, isn't it?

You guys should give some coverage to Guilty Gear Revelator, KOF 14, and Tekken 7 as well.......besides SFV.
Finally! Can't wait to download this.
downloading!
Hope it includes the single player content etc
@adf86
I'll stop cryin when they release some kind of ladder / arcade mode, I don't even need a fancy cut scene at the end.
It did not deserve a 9 from Push Square, more like a 7 with a to be decided 9 listed in small print.
@Sub12 Please watch the language -Tasuki-
@sub12 What Push Square score a game is up to them. I'd rather they score a game on it's quality rather then supposed value of it's price. Should they have been an arcade mode? Yes absolutely but it shouldn't make or break the game either.
I'll have to download as soon as I get home from work. Any word if these challenges have trophies with them? Just curious
Downloading it now. How are the challenges? Easy?
@WanderingBullet I wouldn't call them easy but they are manageable. They are challenging but doable...and this is why we don't miss focus cancel I completed Chun Li and Laura's challenges for now but they are the characters I use the most.
They net you 3000 FM and 5000 XP
the XP is usually enough to go up a level or two so you'll probably end up getting more FM (1000 per level up)
@Feena That sounds reasonable, for all the criticism that Capcom is getting (some of it justified) their giving FM that isn't ridiculously low.
@Feena I tried Ryu's challenge but I'm can't get past Trial 7 because I couldn't execute the moves fast enough…
@adf86 yes, it's pretty nice...and If I remember correctly there's another mode to come "Targets" that supposedly gives you daily objectives to get FM!
I am really enjoying the game a lot and though I can see why some people are disappointed I just can't help but feel good whenever the pad is in my hand and I am playing it.
@WanderingBullet Can't pull out Ryun #8 and #10 for now as well so don't feel too bad...there are easier characters! I think with some practice we can make it though!
@adf86 I agree. The game should have been delayed because of the lack of modes and content, because that harms the game's reputation, but the game will be solid and probably the best fighting game of this generation once the content has been delivered. The only problem was releasing SFV before the masses would be happy with what was included when they made their purchase.
EDIT: I will get this game, but I'm waiting for more content to be released, and a good deal if possible.
I wonder if tomorrow's update will be this big too.
@Feena Yeah, I plan on given' it a go again but I doubt I'll be able to do the combos.
I think the Push Square review was pretty good. From what I have played it is a great fighter but they made pretty clear that it was not a full game.
@sub12 I would like to see more fighters on here as well, but I'll say in Tekken's case there's been next to nothing for a while. Whatever there is doesn't seem newsworthy either.
@DerMeister
For KOF14 and Revelator there has been plenty of news, but zero coverage on this site.
@sub12 Good to know there's something for those games. I admittedly haven't followed either KOF or Guilty Gear due to lack of familiarity with those series, but Tekken has zilch.
It is irritating that the others haven't been covered here. Guilty Gear and KOF look great, but they've always needed more love if you ask me.
My son wants desperately wants me to buy this for him (I think he just wants to see how good chun-lis boobs look on the ps4). He played the heck out of part 4 and eventually got to the point where he could beat me on occassion.
