You see, this is why it's usually a bad idea to make a big song and dance about something that could be revealed in a simple press release. We've waited ten years for a Final Fantasy XV release date, and just hours before Square Enix's reveal event, GameSpot's went and leaked it by publishing a pre-made news video that contains all of the relevant information.

Clearly, the publication's been handed the details so that it can get the news up as soon as tonight's show is over - but if E3 and other events have taught us anything, it's that there's always going to be someone that manages to break an embargo, whether it's a genuine mistake or not. Either way, we doubt that Square Enix is happy about this particular mess.

So, when does Final Fantasy XV launch? Regular readers will remember that a few weeks ago, we reported that Gematsu had been given a leaked date by unnamed sources - and it turns out that the rumour was bang on the money. The game will indeed release on the 30th September.

The party's not over yet, however. We'll still be here at 3:00AM streaming Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV for your viewing pleasure, and we'll still be posting all the news and gameplay footage that we can get our hands on. Will you be tuning in? Tell us that this was an inevitability in the comments section below.
