This week's UK sales chart is a little bit different, much to the relief of every single one of you who reads these articles. Far Cry Primal has roared its way to the top of the club, etching its name in the number one slot like a hasty cave painting. It bettered Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, which entered in second position.
From there, evergreen favourites FIFA 16, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, and Grand Theft Auto V rounded out the top five, with LEGO Marvel's Avengers, Star Wars Battlefront, Fallout 4, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege hogging the following spots. Street Fighter V slipped down into tenth place following its release earlier in the month.
One other thing worthy of note: Knack re-entered the charts yet again, jumping all the way up into 25th place. Fellow launch title Killzone: Shadow Fall also held onto its place in the Top 40, finishing up in 36th position. Did you contribute to this week's UK sales charts in any way? Noticed Knack is being bundled in with consoles at Game. May have something to do with it. That, or people are preparing themselves for the arrival of the much awaited Knack 2! Shame to see SFV drop off so quickly, although I guess not being multiplat would hinder sales a little.
@Shellcore Yep, that would explain it!
Not being multiplat hurt SF V but I also think of Capcom's dumba$$ decisions hurt it.
It's funny how I don't have almost any game on the UK top 10 (GTAV is the only one on this list that I own, and SFV will be the next, but when I buy...it will be long gone from UK top 10.
Kinda happy to see SFV drop down the charts tbh, hopefully it's a reminder to Capcom to not launch these games in an early / unfinished state.
Street Fighter V dropping down is to be expected considering the competition but let's not start thinking the game has flopped, it's sold 115k on PC and it's a reasonable explanation that nearly double that has sold PS4. Capcom expects the game to sell 2m units, and the game has a long shelf life. It'll be like with Driveclub where people were quick to call it a flop and look at it now. Also KZ and Knack in the charts shows why they aren't on Plus because there still making money.
Sequel central
The lack of content stopped me from buying Street Fighter V. I refuse to reward a developer that ignores single player.
@Splat I agree the lack on content on SFV is low right now, but that is the same reason I bought PVZ 2. So much content on that game and hopefully sells well. Starting at #2 isn't a bad start for the game from EA.
I'm glad to see Siege hanging on, it's a fantastic game and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes multiplayer shooters. I've also been loving Primal, much to my surprise, it's a really fun game with some gorgeous visuals.
@Splat Thank you for taking a stand. I'm with you. No campaign = no purchase for me.
I'm loving Far Cry Primal. It's got great atmosphere. It is a little lonely though. I miss CO OP.
