We always thought that Ryu was cool – but it turns out that he's a try-hard of the highest order. Sure, we'd never say that to the muscle head's face, but just take a look at this tutorial from forthcoming PlayStation 4 console exclusive Street Fighter V. In it, we see the beastly brawler under the tutelage of master Gouken, unable to find his… Fist?
Look, if this is what Capcom meant when it hinted that its latest would have a story, we wished that it wouldn't have bothered – but at least we get to see Ken in his more familiar clobber. The tutorial itself teaches a few basic moves, including the new V-Skills, but hopefully goes further with a bit of fighting game theory.
Either way, you can try out the training mode in the game's PS4 beta now. It's available as part of a 2.3GB patch for the client, which should auto-download if you've been partaking in the title's recent server stress tests.

He really is white bread isn't he, Captain Bland
I want to try this beta. Do I need to buy a certain game to access it?
@sinalefa All you need to do is go to the street fighter beta page and sign up for the next upcoming beta which should be fairly soon
http://streetfighter.com/beta/
I need this game, right now. We're doing Pushsquare tournaments right, @get2sammyb ?
Capcom should really put more effort into the story cutscenes instead using average looking hand drawn images again… :/
@DominicanGlory I hope so!
Yeah that 15 minute tutorial is all it is, and then the beta is closed again for now. Ryu > teachers pet for sure lol
Why didn't they just use the in-game models instead of cutting to that crappy artwork? As for Ryu, that's the way his character's always been. He's no star of the show. Still my fav though.
@LukeNI
Thank you so much. I assume you need PS+ as well?
Kudos on your avatar. We really need more SFIII love around here.
@sinalefa I'm pretty sure PS+ is needed to play the beta, sadly.
Thanks, I appreciate it! I main Yang in SFIV, i'm really hoping the twins will make an appearance in SFV at some point and it's actually looking pretty hopeful since most Third strike characters are making a come back!
@DominicanGlory join the sub-community Punch Square. Just look for Superbendercade on the Push Square community.
@B3ND3R
PunchSquare :') One would join for the name alone!
@B3ND3R will do once I'm back home.
@LukeNI
I hope so. Getting a bit sick of seeing so many returning characters, not even one from SFIII.
Well, I always did prefer Ken.
As for the tutorial itself, if it helps new players find their footing, I'm for it. Silly cutscenes and all.
I'm surprised nobody has brought up their Alpha attires in the tutorial. Aside from how Ken's hair wigged out a few times, they didn't look too bad.
Count me in for a SF5 tournament. Probably get my ass kicked but good fun anyway .
Those are some big feet.
@sinalefa @LukeNI PSplus is not needed to play the beta - I was not subscribed when it was on but I was able to play.
Love that they are in SFAlpha gear and looking young...
A pushsquare tournament would be sick ! And the winner could win a white daulshock button with a blue square to replace our black button with the purplish pinkish square as a token of winning such a prestigious tournament ! That would be awesome ! Or at least I think so... Make it happen @get2sammyb !
@ShoryukenKid you need to join the Punch Square group as well. I got permission from Sammy to start it up so it's legit.
@B3ND3R cool I'll be on later and will definatly look it up
