There's never really been a big platform holder presence at Paris Games Week before, and we think that that's prompting some people to underestimate just how busy the coming weeks are going to be in the PlayStation Nation. Sony's said that it will be holding a Gamescom-esque press conference in the French capital later this month, and it looks like that's prompted publisher Square Enix to bring its A-game, too.
While the Japanese company will naturally have European endeavours like Life Is Strange, Hitman, and Just Cause 3 on display, it will also be bringing Final Fantasy XV and NieR: New Project along for the ride. The latter's particularly interesting because we haven't heard anything about the Platinum Games developed PlayStation 4 title since E3 2015 earlier in the year.
The show's set to start on 28th October, with Sony's press conference planned for the day prior. We have to imagine that anything big that Square Enix has to show will debut on the manufacturer's stage. Exciting times.

Aww, i really wanted to see the Kitchen Sink
@Carl-G Same!
@Aaronzord Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
I'm interested to see some NieR gameplay.
Interestly the conference is the same day as Halo 5's release. I wonder if it's a deliberate move to try to steal some of the game's press with some big announcements.
i'll be happy with some NieR News
also hoping for some news about Star Ocean 5, Final Fantasy Explorers and Dragon Quest VII
FFVII Remake news would be a great bonus too but i'm not really expecting any
Can they bring something interesting for once?
Hopefully this means we'll get a more rough estimate of when Final Fantasy XV will arrive next year.
I doubt it, but I hope a new Parasite Eve/The 3rd Birthday game will be announced. It was said quite some time ago a sequel to The 3rd Birthday would appear on consoles. I know Aya would return based on a few hints in the ending.
I would want Yvonne Strahovski to voice Aya again, she sounded great at the end of the game (anyone who played it will get what i understand) I also have her autograph on a printed out picture of Aya.
I'm pretty excited about FFIV & Nier so I'd like to get some good news after the Battlefront bets made me cancel my preorder and crush my star wars excitement.
Ugh. You gave me some brief hope on kh3 honestly, I'm starting to want that more than ffxv although I know it's further off.
C'mon FF7 HD. I want to play it over Christmas!
Apparently KH3 has been assigned the status of a kitchen sink...
Still I'll be looking out for anything on FFXV.
@adf86 Maybe, but I can't imagine there are many people who care about Halo who haven't got an Xbone already. Or to put it another way, Halo 5's release is only a big deal to people that already have an Xbone. Well okay, you'll see sales for the console jump up to some degree but that will only account for so many thousand new sales that will then taper off to the current amount again.
I think big announcements are more relevant to the fact we're near to Christmas, vaguely speaking. We're certainly at the point where people are thinking about what they want Santa to bring. I said it at the time, but when Sony skipped that earlier expo and let Microsoft have the limelight, it really didn't matter. It was quite clever because that would garner a bit of hype that would die away then Sony would come in at Tokyo and Paris and leave all their hype messages much more fresh in people's minds as we approach Christmas.
No Mans Sky Please!
i thought this is the very first PGW
@get2sammyb in this case, gooder
